    Weather Delays at Sydney

Yeah, one pax decided he was sick of waiting and stood up to order the crew to take off from the taxiway when they were third from the active runway. Fun and games. I think they earnt their cash that night. At least I just become a tad happy and then fall asleep. ;)

    Weather Delays at Sydney

Wow, an interesting evening. :p Just for some trivial info, from a crewing perspective, the crew that was scheduled to operate QF552 came off a CBR-SYD flight (QF806) which landed at 9:37pm and were initially told when they landed that the flight had been cancelled and they would have to dead...

Decent accommodation in NY in November

Hi Daniel, we stayed at the Big Apple Hostel in November and I was really pleased. I initially had major hesitations but it's about 50 to 75m from the heart of Times Square on W45th. It's almost directly opposite the Millenium hotel. Location was fantastic and I would definitely stay here again...

Cheaper options than qantas.com and virginblue.com

QF give you one bag in Economy at 32kgs and extra bags are only $20 each. And if they're connecting through Flight Connections, then QF will probably waive it anyway. And there's something about QF giving you the most flexible allowance on your itinerary, but Dave will probably argue that...

Cheaper options than qantas.com and virginblue.com

Yep, when you select the flights, the next screen will tell you down the bottom whether or not. For super saver it says "Upgrade Awards are classified as Discount Economy". If you buy Red-e-deals, it will say upgrade awards unavailable.

    SYD-ADL-MEL-SYD in one day

Welcome to posting of AFF matty744. :D Thanks for sharing your experiences. I can relate to the mess. Coming home from YUL through JFK, LAX and SYD after 40 hours with delays, I picked up the spicy salsa and tipped it straight down my new pinstripe shirt.  Was a bit peeved at...

AA or Alaskan in whY: SFO-LAX?

Hmm, thanks for the advice drron. Very true. 32" is 32" on another aircraft in whY I guess. I was mainly looking at getting away from the AA MD80's for a change. Thanks Mal. I'm spending a few days in SEA and then have to get to LAX to make a connection on the Saturday morning. I have a...

AA or Alaskan in whY: SFO-LAX?

:D Very true Straitman. And I think I'll probably want watch the whole VDB/Satndby zoo take place that I hear so much about. Might make for some interesting entertainment. But it would be nice to have a backup and retreat to the lounge. ;)

AA or Alaskan in whY: SFO-LAX?

I was just looking for some suggestions. I have the option of flying AA or Alaskan from SFO to LAX in whY. Both are the same price and I will have flown AA a few times so I thought that Alaskan might be nice for a change. If it's Alaskan, it would be on an AA codeshare. Two of the cons I...

    QFF Award booking availability

Hi genji. Welcome to AFF. :p This is the wonders of Yield Management at play. Quite often, new seats are released and retracted based on what the airline thinks they can actually sell on the flight. For some reason, QF might think there are more seats available now that they'll give them...

Qantas FF number added to AA Flights booked online

Interesting, I've just been through these issues today and I hadn't even read the thread. I booked twice using the UK method for the first time today with no problems. Etickets arrived within 30 minutes. I then rang the UK and asked them to enter my FF number (and change my name...

Baggage allowance - QF business class

Here's where it gets iffy. It says the most generous allowance on connecting flights- both are two pieces, QF is 32kgs per piece, BA is 23kgs. So on a connecting journey, they should get two bags at 32kgs if I'm reading it right because that is the most generous allowance of the two. But...

US Interstate Flights booking, Need Advice/Help

Now you've found the booking number, it'll be really easy. :p AA will let you select different seats on their flights using that PNR number using Manage Your Bookings. You will see the sequence of flights and just click "select seats" for each sector.

Baggage allowance - QF business class

Yep, that's what I said, apart from when you have connecting flights. eg. Qantas and Cathay which still allow 32kgs in Business Class if you're under the piece system. British Airways - Checked baggage
