VA has even more codeshares on Etihad

    Great observation/comment. LOL

    The joys of competition.

I hope for Gladstone residents' sake strategic can withstand the pressure and also grow from the two return flights a day.

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Came across Gordon Tallis a couple of years ago in the QF part of BNE domestic. I had him autograph my boarding pass so my son couldn't falsely claim it! Also passed Wayne Swan also on another occasion in the same location. AS I looked at him trying to place his face he gave me a knowing...

    ITA Software & BNE-KTM Trip

Hi, I hope it is okay to put a couple of kind-of-related questions in the one thread. 1. I am pricing a trip for Sept BNE-KTM return. Using the itasoftware.com, with BNE as the selling city I get a good price but i can't find the fare direct on the airlines' websites. Is this typical? Would a...

    About red-eye flights

When I lived in Darwin red-eye flights were renowned, especially at the start of school holidays and particulraly the Christmas ones. They often left "down south" just before any curfew and arrived back there shortly after curfew lifted. Darwin airport was often buzzing at those times-multiple...

Changing to earlier flights on non-flexible tickets

Had a positive experience of this on Thursday, BNE-GLT. Arrived hours early at airport due to efficient meeting finishing early. Purposely mucked up kiosk checkin so got ticket to take to service desk. CSA agwnt said I was trying to check-in for earlier flight hence the problem. I acted ignorant...

    GLT to get a lounge

Any other photos desired of Gladstone, let me know. Haven't read all the posts yet but the runway is not only being lengthened BUT also widened to meet the new international regulations. Pity the Commonwealth Govt isn't funding ANY of that.

    GLT to get a lounge

Mmmmmm, now to just get the status or the money or employer to afford QP membership. Pity not all GLT residents get paid the high wages/salaries of big industry. Where was the DJ rumour recently?

What new routes would you like DJ to serve domestically?

Definitely Gladstone to Brisvegas. Would need to have a couple of servcies a day. Would help break the QLink monopoly and the high fares attributable to the big industry paying and lack of competition. Interesting how the fare on the same plane ROK-GLT-BNE is cheaper than GLT-BNE on the exact...

Pacific Blue unannounced strike destroys holiday

Hey Crazydave, Likewise I appreciate your insights, explanations and problem solving where necessary. If you were able to do so, can you find out what did or did not happen in reality to the original flight in question?

    Definitely part of Stella.

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

Apparently they aren't related. Looking at their website reveals they're not but are a subsidary of a larger Australian Stock Exchange listed compnay. Their cancellation fee modus operandi is very similar to some Flight Centres.

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

I wonder if BA got wind of this thread???? Glad to see them finally come to the party. Do let us know the outcome with Best Flights. They are associated with Flight Centre, aren't they?

Pacific Blue unannounced strike destroys holiday

Yeah, I for one would like clarity and certainty as to what actually happened with the flight.

Travel to Brisbane - Flood Considerations

Royal on the Park emailed their previous guests today (or maybe yesterday) advising the extent of the flood damage (external only) and that they would reopen tomorrow. Not impacted as badly as the 1974 floods. No water entered the bulding. Photos are on their website if people interested.

    BA codeshares ex-SYD

Maybe I am not reading it right e.g. isn't QF & DJ, for example saying you can cancel and get a refund/credit wheras BA is only allowing deferral of travel for 14 days?

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

I am a bit confused... will BA allow a no-penalty refund or are they just allowing travel to be deferred by up to 14 days at no cost?
