    SIN lounge suggestions vs QF

Thanks - this is really helpful to know for early morning arrivals into Singapore!

    Krisflyer Spree

Is that failed to credit to your account or the transaction failed to appear as pending? I notice in the FAQ that the merchant has upto 90 days to confirm the transaction. I had a similar experience in that past when I bought something from the virgin estore but the miles did eventually arrive.

Silverkris Lounge Changi vs Krisflyer Gold Lounge

I wondered if anyone else does that? It's been one of my routines on evening transits for a while now!

    Krisflyer Spree

Did anyone get the marketing email from Krisflyer about their new Spree online shopping portal? it looks much the same as the velocity estore but I notice you can earn points on purchases from vendors such as Dan Murphys and at some reasonable earn rates. https://www.krisflyerspree.com/

SQ introduces A380 to PEK and cuts back A380 to HKG

I doubt MH has anything to do with it. Only a few years ago MH had competition from Air China on that route who pulled out for whatever reason and the MH fares are still fairly cheap. In the past six year SIA have gone from three flights per day on 777-200's to four flights per day with bigger...

Silverkris Lounge Changi vs Krisflyer Gold Lounge

Seems everyone agrees both lounges have some issues and space is one of them. I was in the Bridge lounge in Honkers two weekends ago and it was very good in that lots of food and beverage choices, space and accommodates first, business and frequent flyers. SIA might be better to rethink their...

Why no reward seats from anywhere in Asia to SYD in late July / Early August ?

July and August are northern hemishpere school holiday periods and prices go up substantially at that time in line with demand, the airlines also remove the award seats to maximise turnover. Best bet could be to look at mid week flights leaving at unsociable hours.

    Apricot Lounge in HCMC (SGN)

Visited on Friday last week, there was food about but didn't try it as had been at a business lunch. Wine and beer available but twine didn't look good so I avoided it, 333 beer could have been colder but seems a common problem in Vietnam. Shower was available in gents toilet. I thought overall...

    Vietnam Visa

Having read contributions on this thread I used myvietnamvisa.com for a recent visit and had no problems after applying online one week earlier, just took the approval letter to the desk at immigration and paid the money. No line at immigration and I was out in roughly 15 minutes though I did...

Silverkris Lounge Changi vs Krisflyer Gold Lounge

Hi Peakhour, some good points but the food and drink options in the gold lounge are very limited in my opinion. Once upon a time they used to have Cognac which seems to have dissappeared and the Tiger draft tap often runs out... Both lounges fill up from 9pm ish when the long haul flights east...

From memory the pool facility inside T1 includes lockers for your gear.

Amusing or Interesting Reasons for a Delayed Flight Departure

This is a landing rather than departing story but I once landed in a BA 747 at LHR from SIN just after t5 opened. Landed a bit earlier than scheduled and for some reason told to park at T4 in the parking area (i.e not unload via a ramp) rather than expected at T5. There was no ground crew...

Qatar Airways - not a pretty story

There is another question reading everyone's comments, have we as a society gone too far with our expectation that equality and a fair go for all should be considered the standard the world must adhere too? This in the week that the automotive industry in this country died because we were too...

Keeping spirits up [... while working away from home for weeks ...]

Add in a unwell child or maybe an unexpected breakdown of something around the house and it almost sounds like my life. Not much you can do from where ever you are but I suggest buy her a good gift duty free on the way home, shoes have worked for me in the past!

    MI (SilkAir) exit row seats

you can try your luck when checking in at sydney or in changi but the flight is only 45 mins and as dajop says you won't notice it. If you are on the 7am flight to KL I am told its full anyway - I wanted to be on that flight on Monday but now on the 8.30 Sing air flight!

Elite Miles - Have i been robbed?

Best bet is to call Krisflyer services and politely hold your ground that you think you should get the elite miles credited if they say otherwise. If you have future bookings with them and they could foresee that you might make gold and be a regular customer it is in their benefit to give you a...

Mail out time for new membership cards?

Card arrived on Friday making it four weeks. Looking at every one's responses it seems that four weeks is about the average time to receive. That I guess will be helpful for future reference to people. Though if you think about it, four weeks sounds a long time to prepare what is mostly...

Mail out time for new membership cards?

I emailed QFF cust service yesterday and got a call back just after lunch today. The agent has said they have had a recent backlog but my card/pack is on its way in the post. I thought best to pass on news of the backlog as a few others have commented here they are also waiting on their cards.......

    Fares I Don't Get.

They are trying to increase their loading across the network with this kind of pricing and as other posters are saying all airlines do it. For $3K saved you could have a very enjoyable few days in London as a sideline holiday.
