I think there may be some confusion regarding standard travel bank and future flight credit travel bank. Standard travel bank (using velocity membership number as account number) should be able to be used with a discount code. Future flight credit travel bank is limited to certain fare buckets...

Currently onboard VH-YFY

I had something similar where my phone autocompleted my surname and the form failed. I realised the phone had inserted a space at the end of the name field. Removing this let me log in (really you'd think the site should strip starting/ending whitespace when validating for a good user experience).
