Advice and Ideas on how to get an upgrade

Sorry, I haven't stayed there before... in fact, this trip is a first to HK for me. HK has been the one destination in Asia that I keep missing out on.

Advice and Ideas on how to get an upgrade

Thanks Dave, I won't be counting on an upgrade. Thinking about it more, I shouldn't really be too worried as we aren't planning on staying in the room for any lengths of time other than sleeping.

Advice and Ideas on how to get an upgrade

Hi everyone, I've booked a much needed holiday to Hong Kong staying in the IC Grand Stanford. The Minister of Finance has limited the fund to only a basic room so I'm looking for creative ideas on how to upgrade my room or maximise my chances of an upgrade. I'm currently PC Gold with 13k...

    Carry-on Baggage; What is reasonable?

What is the load rating of the overhead lockers? I remember seeing a sticker on a DJ plane once but can't remember what it said. I have no problem with the current size and weight limits. I'm going to step on a few toes by stereotyping. Am I the only one that has noticed that someone with...

    Qantas Baggage - broken suitcase

Good question. I would assume they would replace the shell if it's a major crack or possibly use some epoxy to fill if the cuts aren't all the way through. The only advice I have is to push for it to be repaired properly or replaced if you aren't happy with what comes back.

My first Qantas Business Flight - QF108 JFK-SYD via LAX

Certainly something I wouldn't suggest to anyone. My post was in jest. However, I have been through with a set of polycarbonate cutlery that I forgot was in my backpack. Security took a look after the xray and nothing more was said other than the security person asking where I bought it.

Brisbane Drinks 10 June 2009 (Bon chance Mal)

I know I'm only a newbie to the forum but I'd love to meet some fellow flyers. I'm Brissie based but rarely there unfortunately. I'm in DRW and Katherine now and next week. Shame really because my office looks out over Jacobs Ladder. Maybe next time.

    Qantas Baggage - broken suitcase

Must have been quite a drop to break the handle off one of the Antler hard cases. Is it the golf ball textured light grey hard shell with the handle that springs back to the case? Mine cracked a while back so I just glued up the crack and taped the back with fiberglass tape. FYI don't run for...

    Qantas Baggage - broken suitcase

I had a suitcase slashed open somewhere between check in at LAX and baggage claim at BNE. Qantas were great. They took a statement, filled in some forms and replaced the suitcase with TWO new Samsonite cases. They even sent me a cheque to cover the cost of the items that were taken from the...

    Priority Club 2009 Offers

It appears that might be true. My stay last week was booked prior to joining the promo and it was awarded points, and no qualifying stays recorded against the offer status. It's a shame that all my stays until the end of June were booked prior to joining the promo.

    Smelly Hertz Car

The first exchange was actually a downgrade to a small Hyundai because "that's all they have left". Strange that my second exchange 15 mins later was a Commodore. I just happen to be a Hertz Gold 5 Star member too......

    Smelly Hertz Car

Sometimes you just don't whether to laugh or cry. After an early morning at SYD and a long day at my customer I return to my rental car to find the hot sun acted like an oven to warm up the remaining vomit that the previous renter left in the car for me. I am normally pretty tolerant of small...

Has the bread roll disappeared from QF domestic flights?

I thought they were removed because they could be used as a weapon. BNE-DRW, DRW-BNE was serving bread rolls with breakfast / lunch over the last few weeks.

Chaos in BNE - baggage Handlers Strike

Annoyed... but such is the travelling life. I wonder if I should bill the union for the half day consulting $ I missed out on. I was on BNE-DRW this morning - 2 hours sitting on the tarmac.

Good carry on shoulder bag in Oz

Not sure if you're still tracking this thread or whether you've already bought something. I just bought the Crumpler backpack I previously posted. It is possibly the most comfortable backpack I've ever used. I'm currently doing my first trip with it and carrying a lot of gear: 2 laptops...

Good carry on shoulder bag in Oz

Crumpler have one that might be suitable for your needs: https://www.crumpler.com.au/flash/flash.aspx#/english/product-details/customary-barge-cu02a.html Edit: Just noticed they have a few over shoulder ones too. Also, some airlines state that a camera is allowed in addition to your carry...

Good carry on shoulder bag in Oz

I second that. Backpacks are my preference too. I've also never had the check-in staff ask to weigh my backpack... not sure whether it has to do with it being on my back and out of sight. Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone have any suggestions on good laptop backpacks?
