Rather amusing QF chose to recycle QF107/108 and use those flight numbers on this route instead. The first QF108 that arrived today departed PEK and arrived SYD more than 3 hours late. QFlate(TM) anyone? If today is anything to go by, QF5/6 might not be an unrefurb as often as QF intends it.

The mistake fares VA sold last month for SQ metal didn't apply YQ, so a lot of people got away with crazy cheap fares. Doing a search on OzBargain for "Singapore Airlines" will show $900 PER-SFO ($943 on SQ's site), which dumps about $600 in YQ. So yes, SQ fuel dumps are still alive and well.

OP probably found the fare from SecretFlying (sorry can't post link because my post count < 10). It's the same BA fare as the one posted a few days ago. Also to get the fare to quote that low, IB primes should be used for LHR-BCN/MAD. Otherwise you'll cop extra BA fuel surcharges.
