Webjet's One Day Only WORLD SALE This Sunday!

I have similar sentiments toward Webjet, but I might express them more genteelly.

    Fees on United Tickets

This is very true. Many available Star Alliance flights do not show on United's reservation system because they actively filter out some flights to save money. I recently tried to book a SYD-BKK-BOM flight in C class on TG that was showing on the ANA tool, but was told by Manila that only the...

    Fees on United Tickets

Just booked several award tickets SYD-AKL-RAR. "Taxes" came to less than AUD 90 per ticket (same cost irrespective of booking class). As for name on tickets, UA don't care whose name is on the ticket, as long as you have enough miles to pay (it's not the Qantas mafia, you know). Also, you...

*A members need to 'lift their game' Australia: Air NZ Exec

DJ is an LCC in most senses of the phrase. The other airlines you mention are full-service carriers, who also have LCC services in certain niche markets. As for V Australia's "long haul product" being superior, let's wait and see. They don't have a lot of actual runs on the board at the...

Sounds like your IT dept is quite smart, and you are making Steve Jobs even richer.

Passengers paying for everything in flight

You get what you pay for, generally. I fly UA from Asia to the US many times a year. Mostly C class, with the aid of the odd SWU. Apart from the many surly FA's, full C service is fine, at a cost that is orders of magnitude less than $25,000. But those that are happy to pay through the...

    Ata

Don't worry, your fares will be refunded by your credit card company. Alaska is a fine airline, but I would have also looked at Hawaiian Airlines (HA), who do tend to be the price leader on this route. I am myself flying HA HNL-LAX in August, $220 one-way. Hope it all works out for you. :)

    Ata

It may have escaped your notice, but this is a different airline we are talking about here, it is "American Trans Air", AKA ATA. I'd suggest you check your facts in future before responding to a distraught passenger like this.

    Aloha, a sad end.

That predatory airline Mesa (aka Go!) killed off Aloha. You have to blame United for bankrolling Mesa as their UX partner. That's life though. Dog eat dog.

    Skyairworld

Well dot, I value my life and would not fly any airline associated with Indonesia. I know a bit about Indonesia too, as I sometimes travel with my wife when she takes groups of Indonesian students on study tours. As for Tiger, I have no concerns at all about what is virtually a subsidiary of...

    Qantas - North America's Best

Sounds like really terrific prices to me!

    Paris Shuttle Service

Well, I would just take the train (have done it many times). Less than an hour from airport to airport. Fast and confortable. It may get a bit busy at rush hour, but outside of that, it's absolutely fine. Coach will cost you more, take longer, and be more cramped. But Chaqu'un à son gout!

Lion Air. Oh, where are they from? Gosh, I think it's Indonesia. Thus, I don't think we'll be seeing them for a little while yet. Here's an interesting little thread from Flyertalk... safest airline within Indonesia / fly at all? - FlyerTalk Forums

    Sq Fuel Fines Raised Again...

I guess you have never heard of the US and UK economies. PM me if you wish and I can provide some salient statistics (and even predictions). I hope you are being prudent with your investments right now. The good times will never end, right? Just ask the investment bankers and their staffs...

    SYD-CBR - Business class on Dash 8

You didn't also mention that crash 8's have a serious design fault that causes their undercarriage to collapse from time to time (just ask SAS). And why would anyone pay out of their own pocket to fly from the ACT to Mascot in Sydney, when they can catch a Murrays bus for $15 and get there...

Virgin Mobile + Velocity = 10,000 bonus points

Just checked my Velocity account and noticed that the 10,000 points had already been deposited, after only a couple of weeks or so (I'm still waiting for my 16,000 points from NAB). Got a great phone (Nokia 6300), a free IPod Shuffle and a free set of Bluetooth headphones, all for a $20 a...

    Sq Fuel Fines Raised Again...

That's very interesting, considering that the price of oil has fallen over 10% in the last week or so. Just another excuse to hike prices, but it could backfire on these greedy and rapacious airlines.

United Airlines - award flights for family/friends?

No probs, you can get Mileage Plus award tickets in anyone's name, there are no restrictions whatsoever. Makes Qantas look ultra draconian (which they are). Why waste your points just going to NZ? You can also get R/T tickets to the Cook Is, Fiji, Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa and New Caledonia for the...
