Why do you choose to fly VA (domestic)

I fly them because their staff seem to be younger and more engaged, and they have THE best domestic J fit-out in the world on their A330s.

Are some AFF members "blind" to the Foibles of their 'favorite' carrier?

Re: First refurbished 767 enters service end of the month He said value, not cost/price. There is a big difference.

Are some AFF members "blind" to the Foibles of their 'favorite' carrier?

Re: First refurbished 767 enters service end of the month The only type of poster that annoys me is one who constantly complains about an airline doing things terribly and how they aren't going to fly with them ever again, but then continue to post bad reports/comments about them...

    New booking engine is up

I am WP and partner is SG but neither of us can select seats for a J flight Syd-Per-Syd in March.

Responsible Service of Alcohol Laws and Qantas Lounges

Considering the amount of drunk idiots in every nightlife area in Australia, I'd say Qantas are par for course.

Can someone ban this joker already...?

    737s on dirt runways

Looking at the VA source, VA has been doing a few charters to Boolgeeda airport (Boolgeeda @ OurAirports) using their 738s. I have never seen a 738 land on dirt/gravel... is this something done regularly?

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

They haven't done anything wrong in this instance, so why the criticism? Also I believe it was XFB(roken) which has had many documented issues, not XFA(wesome).

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Surprise surprise.... another post from lovestotravel being critical of something VA has done. You know that all planes require maintenance whether new or old? Maybe they should have bought 20 new A380s because we all know that brand new modern planes don't have any issues.

Apparent Age discrimination in order of service in Business

Re: Virgin Australia Business Class Catering - Service, Meal times, Menus I think Brad's bigger issue isn't being served after row 1, but not being given respect shown to other (older) passengers, based purely on his age. As a early-20s BIS Platinum I can empathise (however I have only been...

can I take fresh fish as domestic carry-on

Tasmanian Oysters wouldn't even be worth it... Albany ones on the other hand.

Is Velocity or QF better for award booking availability ?

No it was a couple of weeks ago and yes I had to call before 8pm on weekday. I just called the normal velocity number and they put me through.

Is Velocity or QF better for award booking availability ?

You need to call to get real availability - annoying I know. I called re availability for SYD-HKG with Virgin Atlantic and there were still Y+ and J seats available on a number of dates only 4 weeks in advance.

    EY460 8.12 Rerouting

I wonder what VAs partner airlines think of the VA status match. Not sure if the OP is a SM or BIS but surely EY/SQ won't want to put some VA Plat who may never have even flown with them or VA before ahead of their own status pax.

Apparent Age discrimination in order of service in Business

Re: Virgin Australia Business Class Catering - Service, Meal times, Menus Except that he said they did meals, drinks and IFE for row 2 before serving the kids. That's unacceptable IMHO. Even if it's their policy to serve adults first they should still be done as adults drinks, kids drinks...

Loss of Qantas Platinum 1 member points due to members accidental death....

I don't believe I was being nasty, more expressing my utter disbelief at the attitude of the OP. Legal costs, damage to reputation and burning of bridges with the late husbands employer is not worth 400,000 FF points

Loss of Qantas Platinum 1 member points due to members accidental death....

Surely Qantas would be more accommodating/compassionate if someone contacted them personally and acknowledge that while they have no legal obligation to do something, any compensation/flexibility would be appreciated; compared to threatening them with legal action for something which is pretty...
