    Seat Selection

I actually rang QF last night to request seat change. SYD-LHR QF31 on Friday and checked now and have got 46C to LHR and 46H back to SYD. First time I've actually tried seat request prior to check in but they new WP status must help. ....Would be ever better if an op up comes up...;)

    Reason for Frequent Flyer card?

Best use for the QF card...When travelling with more than one person I give someone else my boarding pass to get lounge access and I walk in showing card. Obviously only for domestic - but its good to get a win over the system. :D

Same plane, same J seat almost 2x the price!?

Most my travel is AKL-SYD-AKL. QF is my preference due to number of flights they have the the SC's. If I'm getting stitched up by QF I'll try EK (usually J) for about $700-800 EW. Plus I get the chaufeer at both ends (saves about $70 EW or bad family attitudes). Downside is the 10am depart...

    Your travel in 2008....monthly updates

First time I've thrown my details out there I think. Busy start to the year by my standards. Have begun to use EK J more for transtasman flights (10 sectors so far this year) and will hopefully get EK Gold this year aswell as WP. The chauffer drive service EK offer is both a cost and hassle I...

    SYD Qantas Club Refurbishment

Managed to get in here the other week; when flying on QF to WLG and the temp lounge was too far to walk having come 15mins from the other terminal. It still looks by and large like the old lounge. Particularly the bar/servery stations. They had both the tap beer and bottled beer when I was...

    Lounge Access at Paris CDG

I think I've posted this elsewhere; but I had problems at CDG after the RWC. Having asked my agent to book me QF to ensure I got some decent points (all my travel is transtasman and domestic). Got 'bounced' at the AirFrance lounge; was a QF code flight on AirFrance metal. Had to sit in the...

    Emirates J Class

Another tip for EK flyers. Use the EK OLCI (on line check in). Not only can you secure the seat you want, you also get bonus Skywards miles. Which is very generous...off the top of my head 500-600 points per AKL-SYD. Skyward miles to upgrade Y to J only 12500 for AKL-SYD or SYD-AKL and...

    What makes a "Frequent" flyer?

43 for me so far this year, mainly AKL-SYD, SYD-AKL. Including four SYD-LHR return and throw in a few domestic AU. 61 is definately a FF Tanya.

QF delays out of MEL, Fri PM 23/11

My AKL-SYD was over two hours late departing on Wednesday night....We taxied to and from the gate a couple of times...I wasn't too impressed. Also an emergency landing NZ(don't know where)-SYD Tuesday evening.

    Priority Luggage

I've always struggled with this and have come to the conclusion that the tags mean bugger all....the later your bags are checked in the more chance of them coming off first. I'm always one to get my three hours worth of booze so tend to check in early. Recently going AKL-SYD, I had a bit of a...

Personal Welcome from Qantas Customer Service Manager

I noticed this a few months back when I had the CSM take the time prior to take off to come say G'day and see how I was and if I wanted anything (which been put on the spot I said "No").... I found it suprising after doing a heap of flying and not getting anything. I mentioned it to others who...

    Emirates J Class

You can book in the limo service when booking your actual ticket. If you are outside the 40km zone, you can pay the difference to the driver. The lounges: as mentioned above EK lounges absolutely blow the QF lounges away in all aspects. The price for J is very reasonable SYD-AKL is usually...

    Need status credits FAST

The 100% point bonus is probably the most attractive benefit - all my travel is in economy so there have been plenty of flights the last 12 months to get this far. Cheers Dave, appreciated.

    CDG Lounge

Flew back from CDG the other day on a QF code on Air France metal and was suprised that as a QF Gold I was not allowed access to the Air France lounge. Surely QF should sort this out if they are going to offer a codeshare flight from CDG. I thought it was cough (especially since the AB's didn't...

    Need status credits FAST

Think the benefits are worth at least that. I was expecting it to cost a lot more than that. So, any ideas the quickest/cheapest way to the get this?

    Need status credits FAST

Hey everyone, My QFF year finishes on October 31. I need about 280 status credits in two days to get Platinum. It seems a shame to get so close yet so far, and the 100% point bonus and First Lounges would be bloody good for the next 12 months. Whats the best way to do this...

BA Cabin Crew Strike Dates Announced Jan/Feb

I didnt get offered (and wouldnt have taken) it. I missed an upgrade on points though; what made me more P***ed off was a QF employee (not working, but relocating permantly to Australia) bragging to other in the line of her Upgrade "because I work for QF". I have come across this before, when...
