Qantas Ultimate American Express Card ---- 112500 Qantas Points Offer

My apologies - I assumed that it was for one individual persons referral.

    Qantas Chairmans Lounge

Precisely. Being a CEO or higher ranking pollie is likely to get you a membership invitation. It can't hurt when you direct company flights towards a certain airline. That said I even know of staffers of pollies who have been gifted gold status.

    Qantas Chairmans Lounge

A good friend's father was a member for a few years. To sum it up briefly, there was amazing service, amazing assistance when making bookings and amazing people watching in the lounge.

New QF Frequent Flyer with some questions

The answers to your other questions are elsewhere so I thought I'd focus on these. I've never flown to Europe and tried to upgrade and I've never flown and tried to upgrade two passengers on the same itinerary. That said I've had quite good luck in my upgrade requests (5 of 5) with relatively...

Qantas Ultimate American Express Card ---- 112500 Qantas Points Offer

Hi everyone! To give back to the community as well as having a points bonus for myself, I'd like to share my referral link for the Qantas Ultimate AMEX. By using the referral you'll gain an additional 10,000 points compared to when you apply through the traditional pathway...

    Maximum referral P.A.

I found I have best results when playing into peoples greed. Everyone wants free* access to premium cabins of the plane. *Not including annual fee of card and not guaranteeing an upgrade. I've managed to refer 5 people via my Ultimate card. I don't think I'll have any more before the 30/1/17...

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

I didn't. Essentially I left it open to how they would remedy their breach of contract. The 60k bonus was credited to my account on the 21/1 but the description was "HSBC CREDIT CARD 20JAN17". My 2 months post minimum spend was 19/1/17. I'm still intending to pursue them as if my payment...

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

HSBC, I gave you benefit of the doubt. I assumed you may finally have things sorted given the number of complaints (although hoped you didn't). I'm now 2 months + 1 day post minimum spend. Letter has been written, printed and will be posted.

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

I wasn't a HSBC customer and had never previously dealt with them. I applied and didn't hear a thing for a few days until I received an email saying I was approved. Odd they didn't want payslips and took me at my word as I certainly don't earn a HUGE income. Macquarie are a pain to deal with...

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

Very good idea! When that date hits i'll be in the middle of two weeks off between jobs, so I will have plenty of time to harass (ask) them for additional points/refund. Are you able to post a deidentified version of what you sent?

    Best Balance Transfer Card

Citi usually has a reasonable balance transfer period, not that i've ever needed to take advantage of balance transfers. Can you not pay the amount yourself and then be reimbursed?

Qantas online Mall, cookies and points

I've not bought with those stores, but I've never had an issue with DJs or eBay so far. Does anyone have any experience with charles tyrwhitt? I need some work clothes and thought I'd give them a try (plus the points).

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

Seems like they haven't learned their lesson since Ralph had his issue. Given in 1 week I hit the 2 month period, I'm hoping someone's asleep as the helm still!

ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 months

Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo I applied for the card this week. Sent the payslips the following day but due to starting a new job in a few weeks (with an increased income) I called up and sent in a copy of my contract. I find speaking to...

    Woken up for snoring :)

I'd recommend giving a nasal spray containing fluticasone (mild steroi_, similar to asthma inhalers) a go. I've got a dodgy deviated septum thanks to rugby which when combined with large nasal turbinates due to allergies can turn me into a raging snorer - and i'm a thin, active 29 year old. The...

    South America questions

Thanks for the links and advice - have all made an interesting read the last few days! Flying direct to Santiago via Sydney is certainly preferable than an additional stopover in Auckland. We've settled on two countries - Chile - for some hiking and exploring and then Peru (yes, we're tourists...

Flying cheap / in higher classes - sounds like too much work.

By no means am I an expert on achieving all the premium benefits, but I certainly have been fortunate in recent times to fly in the pointy end on international trips - all thanks to this forum, reading and from credit card sign on bonuses. My friends often show some interest initially after I...

    South America questions

Hi all, With the new year comes new possibilities! I'm in the planning stages for this years overseas holiday (hopefully one of a few) and I'm looking at the options for travel to South America. The plan is to aim to fly semi-direct and then visit Peru, Cuba and Chile (or another country which...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

With Qantas? It's dished out by status in descending order. Within each status group it is then determined through i) Who requested the upgrade earlier ii) Qantas club membership (for Silver and Bronze). For example, Tom, Dick & Harry all apply for an upgrade. Tom is Gold whilst Dick &...
