Even then we may only be at the point of 'what happened'. The why it happened may take somewhat longer (or not).

Couldn't add this the the original thread (China Eastern 737 crash), but the cause seems to have been reported as a state secret.

Sometimes the totals reflect what you had a few days ago. Did you collect 600 or 700 points in the last couple of days?

It's not new. The number of point offered is generally what you need to get to 2,000 points So if you've got around 1.700 - 1,800 points, then they'll offer 300.
