Qantas has been running a 787-9 weekly from MEL to SYD on Monday mornings last month, I was on it about 3 weeks ago. The schedule has changed for this month where it is Wednesdays at midday and changes again in April to Saturdays. I think they are positioning flights for international services.

I would hope so as it has wider implications such as Qantas Money's website uses API to show your status and activity but it is getting and displaying the wrong status credits figure from it. I am curious, has anybody contacted Qantas about it?

Bit hard to tell from the pictures as most have the people lounging in an almost upright position but it looks like you have to move a fair amount of your body under the seat in front of your to lie down. If that is the case I think I would find it quite claustrophobic.
