    Turbulence forecast

Great site Quickstatus! Not 100% probability, but I've found the turbulence advisory maps to be reasonably accurate when flying here in the USA. Maybe 1 out of 10 flights will have some extra bumps, or turn out to be a fizzer when moderate is expected. I always check the site before each...

AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

Hi Vertisol, Given the lack of other help, I'll throw my two cents in: Basically, I've found that the 30-day membership won't get you access to partner lounges when there is an AA lounge in the airport. So, in LHR for example, your colleague won't be allowed entry into the BA lounges in T5...

Multi city booking on QF website

Yes - they did without asking. Not sure if it was status-related or not

Multi city booking on QF website

Call. I did exactly the same thing last week (H flex fare mixed with an S saver) and there was no way of booking via the QF website. Inform the agent that you cannot book it on the website, and they should waive the phone booking fee.

    Why fly direct ... ?

Here I am laughing along to all of the replies, when I suddenly realised that I likely suffer from the same affliction as everybody else here.. And I also have a 'nesting strategy' Here's the routing over my next two NYC-MEL trips, mixture of Y and J/F with a nested HNL-BDA ticket that...

Award Booking - Changing to Earlier Flight

AA's written policy technically doesn't allow routing changes, or even switching to another multi-city airport. See the policy here: https://www.aa.com/i18n/utility/sameDayTravel.jsp But, YMMV as MT mentioned, the AA agents are generally flexible and willing to bend the official rules if there...

I need 340 SC to keep platinum...

I'm sure you could get in-n-out delivered by Uber to the LAX QF F lounge. Place the order from ORD first. Done :D

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options No. The immigration agents are only concerned about you having a valid visa / authorization to enter the country. As long as you have this you will be fine at the US border. Most Caribbean and Central American countries are used to folks from...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options If you can start from SJC, then.. SJC-DFW-MIA-UVF (St Lucia) return for US$767 will net you 550SC http://goo.gl/flights/zdBu - immediate turn at UVF with overnights in MIA and ORD. I'm sure you could play with it more to get LAX-JFK flatbeds...

    Chasing Status: What's your motivation?

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion It all depends on the value you place on the 'benefits' of the program. My advice would be to make 2 lists - one of the benefits you think you'd like/want (need? :D) that you don't currently get, and another of the cost /...

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

That's one way to go about it! :D It's actually a bit annoying if you're sitting in the middle J seats and your partner's TV screen is stowed and turned on, as it shines right in your direction. Not that Ms Galah and I have ever had that problem..

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

I can't comment on the mini-cabin, but sitting with a partner in the centre seats (D&G) still requires you to both lean forward a fair way if you want to talk. I'd still recommend this over the aisles, as your console/table meets in the middle and can be shared easily.

Australia to Guyana on One World

The route with most oneworld coverage would be: SYD-LAX/DFW-MIA-POS-GEO (with POS-GEO on Caribbean as ShaneN mentioned) Flying Qantas to JFK, then Caribbean direct JFK-GEO could also be an option, this is only 3 stops as opposed to 4. Another 3-stop trip could be SYD-SCL(Santiago)-PTY(Panama...

AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

You're going to get best value crediting QF codes to QF and AA codes to AA, regardless of metal flown. Crediting QF O-class to AA will earn you 25% of miles flown, which is terrible. Presuming the majority of your flights (esp. trans-pac legs) are on QF codes, I would credit to QF, which...

AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

In my experience, you will get access to QF lounges when there is no AA lounge available at your port. Again, this was a couple of years ago so who knows how many enhancements have been made since then.. ;)

AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

You're right - you will only have access to the AC in terminal 4 at LAX. I've updated my original post. Apologies FF2013!

AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

As Princess Fiona and others have mentioned, yes, there are 2 AC lounges in Terminal 8. However, I have had issues in the past getting through security in T8 when holding a boarding pass for QF12 (out of T7). YMMV
