Really not a whole lot in it. There is a slight difference if you are in an A330-200 or A330-300. The 200 has J split into two mini sections of 3 rows each. I think it comes down to do you want to away from the toilets or the galley. I generally go for 1A.

I think it is probably more to do with that time of night. Even Singapore can get very quiet and boring after midnight.

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion There used to be TSV-BNE-MEL-HKG but since the MEL-HKG flight changed times that doesn't seem to show up. PER-SYD-CGK used to be good as well, but the cost in points seems to have gone up.

Also something minor to consider you get more status credits going with the second and third options.

My understanding and from what others have reported in this thread was that it was only the first class lounge that was closed at the time of the QF24 departure and but the business class lounge was open for the QF departure.

My understanding is yes. Qantas passengers with gold or higher status get access to the EK lounge at BKK if they are flying on QF or EK. Qantas club passengers will only get access to the Qantas lounge. QF Gold or higher passengers on Jetstar will only get access to the Qantas lounge.

For a daytime flight I usually for 23A and put up with the restricted leg room. For a overnight flight I'll go with 24A for the extra leg room.

I guess as BA only have a departure at 12:20am then the first lounge would not be open in time for the Qantas Sydney departure. Of course QF WP now has access to the Emirates lounge at BKK when travelling on QF or EK. Which has much better food. As before they also have access to any other...

It was booked directly with the website. Was a MH Smart fare. Which it is as far as MH fare families goes it is 2nd most flexible out of the 4 economy fare classes.
