    Happy with Westpac Altitude?

Between Westpac Altitude (Home) & Citibank Plat (Work), I love the points buildup. Just cashed in points for $500 Myer Vouchers from both to buy a vacuum cleaner and water filter. F.R.E.E. :D :D It's luverly.

    Qantas club passes

Icemann, as a longtime Platinum member (5 years seems like a lifetime) I can tell you that lounge use is possible even if you are travelling another airline like vb. But the crux of it all is that you have to be travelling that day - incoming/outgoing. It used to be that you could wander into...

Attention: WA Qantas Frequent Flyer members

Bernie, I think the sad truth in all of this is that you are in a captive market. To travel out of Perth domestically is a long haul flight and the aircraft are probably always full. The deals that QF offer are to fill otherwise empty seats that have in the past proven empty statistically. In...

Overseas Tropical Getaway for 30K - 40K points

Jim, I took the whole family (2 adults and two kids) to Fiji for 130,000 points from MEL. I did the Sheraton stay on points and the $1200 odd dollars in food and kids things I paid in Starwood points as well. 1 week in Fiji for $200 - PRICELESS :D

Upgrade credits for domestic flights on American Airlines

Lindsay, the much heralded skybeds will be put on the UK route in competition with BA. QF are installing them in all the B744s over the next two years and you can bet your bottom dollar OZ-LAX will be last in line :( I'm 6' 4" and they told me I should fit OK.

    Tips

Yes I certainly do. I mainly use the dept store vouchers. Why would you use the points & pay option when you can get the goods for free on points only. Who cares what they cost in the store when it's F.R.E.E. Maybe if I wasn't such a FF on business I'd transfer my points to QF but I prefer...

    Change of Aircraft

It's probably because QF are replacing their older aircraft with the newer type B738s & A332s. The B738 is a cheaper aircraft to run, but another thought is that QF has deemed this city pair over that period as not requiring the bigger aircraft or they've assigned the B763 to another route.

    ANZ card poll

It's in other threads but basically it's like Citibank Visa Platinum (I did this to go from AMEX).... Have them transfer the points, double them and cancel the other card. You do this in the application process and it's usually their bonus offer to get you there in the first place. :D Never...

Upgrade credits for domestic flights on American Airlines

Some of the DOM terminals have the skybed set up so that you can go for a test run. I think I saw it at the SYD terminal. Some QF people told me my whole 6'4" (body) will be able to fit in the bed comfortably. Apparently it lies flat with a cocoon at the head. What will be really interesting is...

Upgrade credits for domestic flights on American Airlines

The FA got it wrong which is most likely because he/she doesn't know much about their own system. I've been led to believe the problems are being experienced across the cabin telephone exchange system and not the satellite connection which is after that exchange point. I've used the satphones...

    Qantas holiday fiasco...

Well there goes that good thought. I thought you knew the QF people read this forum to see what's going on as well.

New Coles Myer/GE "Source" Mastercard with FlyBuys

One of my business colleagues has a Gold Amex and hasn't paid any fees for years. :D I'm not sure if it's published on the AMEX site but there goes the possibility of your 'first'. Still if it appeals, go for it.

    Phone companies and ff points

Yes, the Telecard is another beautifull FF point earner and most times I find it cheaper to use when calling cell phones from the USA to Australia. I use it anywhere where I'm not using a cell phone and when I've had to have the inclination I've dialled an Australian based ISP while in the...

New Coles Myer/GE "Source" Mastercard with FlyBuys

... or a shareholder. If you look on the webpage and the link to the ASX releases you will see a word for word ASX release. Mind you I'm a QF shareholder and I still have my opinions stated one way or the other.

CASA Media Release - Monday, 15 September 2003

I don't think the new models actually start transmitting until after you put in your pin number. I say this because you can use the alarm clock function and the phone manufacturers say the phone doesn't switch on when the alarm goes off (on :? ). Ihave a Sony Ericsson now and previously had a Nokia.

Flying SQ and getting AN points

The ageing fleet is about to be updated with A320's (15+5). There's always been a concentration on shorthaul with this airline and alliances for the longhaul. I hope this may be a revival of sorts. Who knows :?: What if they allied with VB so they could put more resources toward longhaul...
