    Istanbul advice sought, please

Something else I just though about - if you are looking at getting a sim for a data connection in Turkey, consider Alldaywifi (Google the website) instead. We arranged to have one of their devices waiting for us at our first hotel. It costs $5USD per day, and worked everywhere we went in Turkey...

Your bottom must be much more attractive than mine - hubby wasn't required :-) The hot air ballooning at Capadocia was amazing!

    Istanbul advice sought, please

Hi Rooflyer We left Turkey yesterday after 13 days, so here's my input! Firstly - GO! We did not feel unsafe once! Tourism is currently at 20% of what it was last year, so we got lots of private tours! I think our biggest group was 5! Not great for Turkish tourism, but great for visitors. 1...

How do current affairs affect your travel plans?

I will be wearing conservative western clothing but will also carry a scarf in case I feel like I need it. I have long blonde hair so tend to stand out anywhere where darker colouring is the norm so the scarf will be only if I feel the need to blend in more. This is not just a Turkey thing...

How do current affairs affect your travel plans?

Re: The totally off-topic thread Heading to Turkey in 24 days. It hasn't changed my travel plans. Smart Traveller has not changed the rating for Turkey. I feel that anywhere is at risk now (look at London, Paris, Bali - all places we wouldn't bat an eyelid at going!), and we just have to be...

Bus, Breakfast and Booze in the Barossa [Sun 3Apr16]

Finally all sorted and paid! There was a bit of a scare with hubby changing jobs and being rostered on that weekend, but we've sorted that now! Can we please have 1 & 3 for breakfast, with 2 Latte's.

Bus, Breakfast and Booze in the Barossa [Sun 3Apr16]

What we buy can change from tour to tour. Sometimes nothing, sometimes a dozen or two. As a "local", the Barossa is less than an hour's drive away, so often if we don't buy, we can easily go back again to pick up what we want. Also, I work for a wine logistics company which exports quite a bit...

    Singapore- Is 7 days sufficient

If you are a foodie, I suggest you check our Tony Tan's food tours here Betel Box The Real Singapore Tours We did the Joo Chiat/Katong Food Walk, and while yes, the food was good, the best part was seeing a more traditional part of Singapore many don't see, hearing about the history and culture...

Bus, Breakfast and Booze in the Barossa [Sun 3Apr16]

If anyone is in Adelaide early and looking for something to do, there are a few walking tours in the CBD revolving around food & drinks on this website Foodi - Adelaide that could be worth a look! I haven't done any of them, so can't vouch for them, but they look good on paper. Some of the...

Seeking expressions of interest in Southern/Eastern Tasmania wine tour

I (+1) am somewhat interested in attending, depending on the date of course. The last weekend in June and the first two in July are definitely out - there is no way I can get a couple of days leave at end of financial year. Like Buzz, I also have to content with silly flights out of Adelaide.

Titanic II: Tour of the Clare [Nov 1, 2015 - Wine Tour]

Well, the last thing we need is more wine (we don't have enough room for the last lot still!) and Rockfords tends to mean the credit card gets a bit of a hit. I'll be going for the company :-)

Titanic II: Tour of the Clare [Nov 1, 2015 - Wine Tour]

Do you have me (+1) on that list? I was really hoping you wouldn't pick that day! The Buzz wine tours are such an enjoyable day that I don't think +1 will be happy if we don't go - even if we are flying out for a month two days later!

    VA & BP big announcment?

My local BP (in Adelaide) had fuel at $1.01 today and it is usually the cheapest in the area. It's a small place, and has only been a BP for a few months, so not sure if the prices will eventually rise - especially since it has just opened the only car wash in the area. It will possibly get a...

Titanic II: Tour of the Clare [Nov 1, 2015 - Wine Tour]

If it's the 3rd we might be able to make it - we don't head off on holidays until the 5th. Not sure if the credit card can cope with another visit to Rockfords though :-)
