    Qantas Points Club Discussion

SYD to East Coast says 52 status credits for a Qantas marketed reward. It doesn't refer to segments. At least that's how I interpret it for the 52 to make sense.

Article: Loyalty Programs Creating Two Tiers of the Same Status

Maybe, but PC/ PC+ vs. Gold is a good example of multiple tiers already in place. You get a benefit with PC+ (or QP paid) but it doesn't go as far as SG on lounge access, let alone other benefits. I would think Qantas already have the balance largely right on this one (for their purposes). To...

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

Yes it needs to be a QF flight and of course you will still need to be a PC member at the time of flying. Reward seats on other airlines will rarely (never?) be available with a QF code if using QF points. There seems a bit of availability SYD to SCL, but a mix of QF or other carriers. Generally...

    Amex Rejection earning $300k

I don't agree with those saying to get rid of the LOC. You make a lot more than me. I am older. I have a mortgage owing more than your LOC. I can still get credit cards. I wonder, are you a contractor rather than an FTE?

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Yes you are right, there are a few. Maybe I don't look as often as I thought. I do look more at peak times and have been looking for Dec/Jan 353 days out or whatever it is and there is never anything left for a lowly Bronze, J or Y. Except via SIN and DBX which is not so desirable.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

As someone who regularly looks out for JNB reward flights in any class with QF, I say you'd be lucky. They just don't come up too often. You can get there with Emrites but that adds a lot of points, dollars and time to the trip. (I don't believe Malaysian goes there. I do see KUL to JNB...

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

If you mean separate bookings then no. If everything is the one booking and a flight is delayed causing you to miss the next flight, they will put you on another flight. But if it is a separate booking you will be stranded if you miss a flight. If you believe you should be able to book a flight...

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

I just used the NAB card in Bali at a couple of ATMs and there were no fees.

Lower fees with multi city Qantas

Actually you were responding to me and I was referencing general media comments where people say you can only get flights 12 months out (whether I was clear or not). Don't forget I stated that I would like to have found J flights but at short notice I'll take what I can get (Y there, Y+ back)...

Lower fees with multi city Qantas

I was referring to general reports in the media where such claims are made without reference to class. That's everything to do with how Qatar release seats, not Qantas. And you prove the point of @Hampton Mike with your selective example. After that comment you should be careful who you call...

    Qantas International Red Tail Sale

I canned an award flight SIN to MEL via SYD in Y+/J to a revenue Y direct at the cost of $130 a passenger and return of 74000 points (after points penalty and subsequent points to be earnt). I doubt BA Y+ is worth all those points for that price, not to mention the joy of a domestic transfer.

Lower fees with multi city Qantas

@madrooster does this mean that the multi city charges are correct or are both methods over charging?

Lower fees with multi city Qantas

Yes I did this on the QF site. It was a points booking. I didn't look at other sites.

    Jetstar using Qantas points

Just did this trip. 30kg of checked luggage and water, but nothing else (in Y). Oh and I see you have QP which you can use on departure at least. Good way to fill up before you board.

Lower fees with multi city Qantas

There's something I can't be bothered with. J is a bit of a waste of points for that short leg in my opinion, but we'll try the J lounge over QP on this occasion rather than get on the phone with Qantas. I would have liked J on the overnight leg from SIN but you get what you can on short...

Lower fees with multi city Qantas

Thanks madrooster. As a side note (and I am having trouble finding the same fares to post screenshots), selecting the return fare method, it gave a warning "your flight from SYD to MEL will be in business" (edit: I can see that on the screenshot I did post) and when I tried the multi-city but...

Lower fees with multi city Qantas

Is this normal? I have booked flights MEL to SIN return, coming back via SYD on BA. Searching for a return trip result in fees of $1066 for 2. However putting the same flights in as multi-city resulted in a $180 saving. Screenshots below for similar dates and flights. It seems BA wants (i.e...

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

So what? Once upon a time there was no PC or PC+. QF doesn't have to make sure each class of member feels equally incentivised. The target of PC+ is most likely big spending (churning) infrequent flyers. QF already have the SG members on board. Of course there is still the benefit of all...

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

Nah. Just because you don't get anything out of a particular benefit, it doesn't mean you should expect something else in return. Plus PC itself can contribute to reaching Gold in the first place through status credits on award flights.
