:lol: Yes, I burned one of my 4 complimentary upgrades. I fly on Flexi fares (and at least a couple of times a week) so I am vaguely hopeful the outbound flight on Monday morning may see the upgrade fairy too.

You probably can have it all ways as I'm not sure there's currently sufficient demand for the J product to fill the current A330 config on the east coast commuter routes. But we shall see.

Not really. It has a cubby near the rear galley with packets of chips and if you're lucky cans of soft drink. No booze. Y+ gets self-service wines and snacks from a psuedo-bar but there's no seating at the bar, while J gets a full range of spirits, some bar stools, and often times a bartender...

Diamond benefits are in no way worth the cost of an extra room. For the typical rate at the HSW (which is, what, $280+ a night?) you could pay to upgrade the to the exec floor several times over and pay for wifi access, at which point they're only missing out on a couple of bottles of water and...

You'll survive in Y (of course) but J is better. But you knew this already. If you can afford it, fly J. If you're conflicted about spending the money then you probably shouldn't. Either way focus on the trip and not the journey and you'll have a good time.
