    Life after Lifetime Gold

I'll certainly be staying QF when I get to LTG. I am a 95% domestic traveler so staying WP is the ticket for me. VA are useless to me as they don't have a lounge in my home port and in the other major port that I fly through a lot ( Perth ) they're in the wrong terminal for me. ( FIFOs will...

Refunding QF First Saver fares - credit voucher only?

Probably off topic here but I'd love to know what QF did to you to really piss you off so much. For a couple of weeks now you've really been sticking it to them :D

Do you ever think you fly "too much" ?

I fly to work too often. I fly home from work not often enough.( It seems that way, even though it's the same amount of times as line 1 ) I fly for leisure not often enough.

Nope - I'm subscribed and nada for me.

Interlining - Jetstar Asia to Qantas

Thanks all. Earlier flight leaves us with 8Hrs in the terminal. Would that be enough time for a really quick look around Singers, haven't been there for 30 years.

Interlining - Jetstar Asia to Qantas

Hi all, Myself and Mrs BD are going to Thailand in November and have just been advised by QF that there's been a slight adjustment on flight schedules. This has left a 70min gap ( Previously 1.75 Hrs ) between our Jetstar Asia (3K) flight landing at Changi and our QF departing. Questions -...

    Worse than feet on bulkheads

I tend not to eat from sofas though. Tables I do.

    Learning about churning

I've been on the churn bandwagon for a few years now, as a general rule if I can get 20K points for $100ono then I'm in. In my case I use points for transcon upgrades to business, and I fly on a M class econ ticket usually ( Corporate "Flexi" - which I pay for ). 10000pts gets me into J...

    Worse than feet on bulkheads

Maybe it is easier to control the cleaning of the surface but I reckon it's cop out from the lounge staff, and manager in particular I'd say, to not tap these people on the shoulder and say "Please remove your feet from the table" If they moan or play up, take their details and kick them out...

    Oversold flights & operational upgrades

I got my first ever opup the other day on TSV-BNE on a red-e-deal. Y was full apparently ( B737 ) and they could sell another into Y so up I went. There were actually 2 other empty J seats - 1 of which was next to me!

    Qantas service?

And yet all I read was a couple of statements of fact in the OPs' eyes - ie an opinion. I certainly didn't see any shaming. You say Tomayto, I say Tomahto etc etc.

    Air Asia drama ex-Per

As I've mentioned before, I work in a nasty place where lots of things have the potential to kill people. SOPs are rife in my place too. One really, REALLY big problem SOPs create is that some people believe it removes their need to think objectively and subsequently act in exactly that way.

    Air Asia drama ex-Per

I wonder if this pilot has any previous "form" with other Air Asia incidents mentioned? I work in a very nasty refinery with lots of very life-threatening chemicals. I know if stuff goes pear shaped at my work I'm looking to remove the risk "right now". I would think that removing the risk of...

    MU736 Return to SYD

Yep, sure does. I also work in a place that has the potential to kill people if things go pear shaped. Sometimes nasty words convey the difference between "Would you mind if I do X" and "This is what's GOING to happen"

    Quick & Easy P1 Requalification

Amen to that one. Which was my point a few posts back.

Loyalty bonus quandary, what do you do?

SCs for me too. LTG is my target and I'll be there in 4 years at current rate, I'll get 600SCs extra this way in 4 years so probably reduces my time to LTG by about 4-6 months. Points are easy to come by, and 50SCs is worth way more than 8000 points to me.

    Quick & Easy P1 Requalification

Wow. Some serious "nose out of joint" reactions here. The OP clearly has the money to do the deed, sees the value in it and is happy with their decision. Why on earth do any of the rest of us care? Or believe we have the right to criticise? The OP threw it out there on how they got to P1...

    Quick & Easy P1 Requalification

I reckon $15K for P1 is dirt cheap. I spend about $14000 a year on domestic and only just retain WP each year. In fact that gets me 1170SC and I have to find the other 30. Double SC obviously gets me more.
