    Qantaslink Staus Credits Query

It's still happening, I booked a couple of J flights yesterday to NZ and the Qlink flights still don't get added in, discount J to AKL ex TSV is 120SC, but shows as 80 when booking - doesn't add in the 40 Qlink. I certainly haven't had any trouble with my Qlink SCs crediting after actually...

How to make enemies...! [by weighing carry-on]

It's one of the main reasons I like QF, generally their passengers don't try to stuff things best put in the hold into overhead lockers. I think 7kg is plenty and if everyone sticks to it then the overhead lockers are actually not straining to bursting point and you can put your bag where you're...

    Qantaslink Staus Credits Query

Just had an interesting thing occur. My wife is booking a red-e-deal Broome to Townsville flight, via PER and BNE. 2 legs, BME-PER and BNE-TSV are Qantaslink - with QF codes as always. The thing of interest here is that the flight is showing as only earning 20SC, which is the earn rate for...

    Luxury Escapes

Probably doesn't impact LE's ability to provide good packages though does it? And I realize your post was purely informational. I can think of plenty of instances where the "Industry representative body/club/association/Co-op" just turns up for their hand-out and you, the business, gets...

500k QF points, need to get to London on J or higher, confused

Yep - And I have to do 5 Hrs once a month now ex BNE to Perth on a 737, now that QF in their wisdom have killed off the A330 from the early flight. It's not fun but if you have to and it's a good saver then - go for it.

500k QF points, need to get to London on J or higher, confused

I completely concur with Rooflyer. Get to Singapore, or even Hong Kong - paid Y in exit rows if you need the room - then it's not that hard to get SIN-LHR or HKG-LHR J awards. Singapore or Hong Kong to Amsterdam is also pretty easy - then the train. Straight out J awards ex Syd/Mel are pretty...

Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

Yeah - I'm not sure. I work for a mining company and it's very common in the industry across a variety of companies. Another thing that is salary sacrificed commonly is Long term Airport Parking for FIFO workers. A calculated value of some sort of my Salary Sacrifice stuff definitely ends up on...

Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

OK - To answer some of the questions raised by replies to my last post Yes - I am confident I've registered, I rang 3 weeks ago chasing up the first lot. Guy on the WP line said - I can see you've registered, you need to wait the 6-8 weeks and ring back then. There is a long story with regards...

Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

I've had 5 flights bought during the DSC period, not GVs, and not a single DSC has been credited yet. First one was 10th April so the 8 weeks expires this Tuesday but I'll not be very happy if I have to chase every one of the 8 flights ( 3 to come ) purchased during the DSC period. It'll be a...

Loyalty and airlines - are we expecting ridiculous things??

Quite right. Qantas don't have a monopoly on unmotivated or outright lazy employees though. Everyone gets fobbed off by employees of businesses, I just mentioned Expert Flyer as a way of checking against this sort of buck pass in this instance.

Loyalty and airlines - are we expecting ridiculous things??

Bismarck - That's a situation where Expert Flyer is your friend. Even the free version. It's very easy then to see when you're being snowed.

Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

I haven't got any DSC from a bog standard registration and fly yet that first leg was on 10 April, last leg 17th. Normally I get the first leg within 5 days at the outside. I might shake them up on Monday. But there WAS a hiccup with the registration - didn't get the "You've registered" email...

Qantas, As if I Really Care

Looks to me like the typical piece of corporate wankspeak. More designed for his superiors than anyone else. "Look at me Boss - Look how much I BELIEVE in our corporate catchphrases and meaningless slogans" Any of us who've worked in big business of any type have seen plenty of the...

should do i bother to complain to qantas

I think if I was doing a 24Hr trip that needed only 1 change of clothes then I'd be going HLO. Even with 2 small kids. I'd be very surprised if Qantas would even be faintly receptive to compensating you. I'd chalk it up to experience and the need for better planning.

    Woman Goes Through X-ray Machine

I NEVER put my wallet in the tray, there's nothing metallic in it. It stays in my pocket. Coins come out before I travel or go in the HL. Phone in the tray, and laptop if I'm carrying one. My belt doesn't have a metal buckle and never wear shoes with metal on them.
