Crediting SQ status credits to Virgin

I couldn't change from SQ FF to DJ FF online and so asked the check in agent to change it for me at the airport. I subsequently found that only the first flight in each direction credited to DJ, whilst the second flight credited to SQ. The lesson (I think) is that I should have got the lounge...

Crediting SQ status credits to Virgin

Thought I'd give a quick update on this - not sure if my experience is typical. I was unable to change my FF number from Singapore to Virgin online and so made the change when I checked in at Perth. Also did the same thing on the way back (i.e. made sure at ICN that my DJ FF number was in the...

    Another corporate account to Virgin

A couple of weeks ago a FIFO friend of mine was telling me that the company he works for had just shifted to qantas - so I guess it isn't all one way traffic to Virgin

Platinum One yesterday, today, maybe tomorrow

My OpUp rate has actually dropped since becoming WP1 (I suspect that it's due to the improved upgrade process for those using points - but have absolutely no facts to back this up ;)).

    World's best airport named

I've got all ten, although Schiphol and Zurich were a few years ago. Either Schiphol has changed a lot or my memory is playing up - I remember it as a bit of a tip

    Hotel in Seoul, Korea?

As mentioned above the Westin Chosun is fine. I usually stay at the Lotte.

Crediting SQ status credits to Virgin

I'm off to South Korea in a couple of weeks time PER - SIN - ICN flying J on SQ. My PA has automatically put my SQ frequent flyer number into the booking. However I'd like to credit the flights to my DJ frequent flyer number (this will see me retain platinum). I've had a look at my booking on...

Retaining P1 how is everyone looking

It took me just over 6 months to requalify. Hard to predict the future - I've got a trip next week but no travel planned after that (not an unusual situation). Op-up situation seems to have got worse if anything - none since P1 introduced. I wonder if the new upgrade process is having an effect.

No more 747 F services to LAX

When thinking about my loyalty to Qantas I suspect that a lot of it is irrationally tied up in the occasional op-up to F. Reducing the potential for this may finally make me reconsider.

    New 3 class 747 layout - QF7/8/15/16/107/108

When I was in 1B I didn't find that the space was useful - too high up and far away to be used as a table, not at all like the old 4A or the new row 5 seats. Although it may be recessed it still means that there is less legroom for the first row than for other rows - issue isn't with the seat...

    New 3 class 747 layout - QF7/8/15/16/107/108

Good idea to move from 1A - it's very cramped on the new config. From memory 5B is really an aisle seat with a largish table/storage space next to it (presumably where they couldn't quite squeeze in 5A) i.e you're a fair way from the window anyway. The skybed doesn't usually get in the way of...

A380 WIFI Trial Starts tomorrow (7th March 12)

Don't have a problem with internet access - great idea, well done Qantas, look forward to it. But charging business and first class passengers for the privilege - come on, they've got to be kidding

A380 WIFI Trial Starts tomorrow (7th March 12)

So let me get this straight - i pay $10k for a business class ticket to the US and then find that Qantas haven't sucked enough money out of me and they want to charge for internet access - they really are dropping into LCC land.

    New 3 class 747 layout - QF7/8/15/16/107/108

Zone A is more private but it is a long way from anything - not only when exiting but also the service started from the back and worked towards us so was fairly slow (although the FA's were very good). The single seat in row 5 looked very good but suffers from being in the main cabin. I think...

    New 3 class 747 layout - QF7/8/15/16/107/108

New 3 class 747 layout - QF8 Imagine my surprise when I was handed my boarding pass for QF8 to find that instead of relaxing in an old first class seat (4A) I was in 1B - hang on I thought, there isn't a 1B on the seat map. Then the penny dropped - we're on a newly refurbished plane. I...

Where do you keep your passport?

I can rattle off my passport numbers and expiry dates (both Aus and UK) without needing to look at them because I use them so much. My wife on the other hand has no idea about her passport but can rattle off her credit card number without needing to look at it.;)

Best and worst experiences in Y class

Best Y flight that sticks in my memory was many years ago when I was heading to Australia (from the UK) for a few months backpacking. Thai airways flight and the leg into Sydney was almost empty (I think there were about half a dozen of us in the back section - all in our 20's). After the food...

Where do you keep your passport?

I don't think I'm daring or foolish - it's just that I prefer to generally travel the world with a view that 99.99% of the people that I'll encounter won't do me any harm and if someone does mug me or hold me up then, at the end of the day, if I've lost my passport, money and credit cards well...

Where do you keep your passport?

Either in the inside pocket of my suit jacket (to be hung up by the FA) or the outside pocket of my briefcase. It's usual home is the inside pocket of my briefcase.

    Perth the worst Airport??

Can't see the problem myself. At the domestic terminal it doesn't take more than about ten minutes from stepping out of the taxi to sitting down in the lounge. Arrivals is pretty quick (with carry on only) and I don't often have to wait for a taxi (at least not as often as at other Australian...
