Can't view Qantas PNRs in Finnair MMB anymore?

Similarly haven’t had to do this in a while but loosing the ability to swap FF number without seeing someone will be a pain.

The Qantas Status Run Master Thread

Looking for options for something before end of February. I’ve got a lot of travel in my next year so retaining WP would be useful, just not had much opportunity this year. I need 230 SC based on booked travel and attaining green tier but this could be 180 if a minimum of 120 are on QF so I...

    Qantas International Schedule changes

Unlikely - Asiana are merging with Korean airlines, and the brand will disappear. Korean are probably focused on that rather than new partnerships right now but a codeshare with them could happen - they have a codeshare relationship with JAL for example.

Free entry to Emily Kam Kngwarray exhibition at the National Gallery in Canberra for QFF members

I went round this exhibit a month or so ago. Well worth it IMO.

    Unable to select Stansted

That could be some married segment nonsense. QF may not have filed a CR ‘fare’ ADL-DXB-STN Annoying I know, but if you can see ADL-DXB and DXB-STN on the dates you want then you should be able to call and ticket it.

Qantas Staff Incompetence - Ticketed 2 adults and not infant, leading to denied boarding

Ah yes the ‘Beware of the Leopard’ defence. I have flown hundreds of QF segments and never printed my e-ticket, let alone heard of this requirement. There’s a lot of victim blaming going on in this thread. QF cough**d up ticketing, QF cough**d up service recovery, the OP was out of pocket...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Is the sake on flights to Japan still that Ozeki garbage? I’m flying qf61/62 in a couple of weeks and wondering if I should bring my own. There’s so much good sake in small formats, they should consult me on what ti serve.

    QBR Sustainability Survey

Just got a QBR survey on Sustainable Aviation Fuel and carbon Offset products. They got both barrels from me. QF have so much low hanging fruit in their decarbonisation journey - electrifying ground ops, solar on terminals and maintenance facilities, electrifying regional flights, supporting...

Qantas Schedule more Evening Departures to North America

Especially when 2 of those hours are at peak New York rush hour traffic. Plus, until QF gets this sorted out, JL has the advantage of WiFi so the leg up to Tokyo can be quite productive, (sake permitting).

Qantas Schedule more Evening Departures to North America

If you prefer first from SYD to the US East coast, after July 1st JAL has a 77W daily on JL 51/52 with an easy connection to JFK. It’s half the price of QF and is first all the way. A few hours longer I’ll grant.

Melbourne EV Car Ride Service - GoBlu-EV

I’ve been picked up by the CEO and the COO a few times. They are taking inspiration from an Indian outfit called BluSmartEV who have 5000 cars in a few cities across India and investment from BP. I admire their bootstrapping.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

It’s too simplistic to see the value of a point isn’t fixed at all stages of the lifecycle. It will be different when sold to a partner, when held by the member and when transacted by the member. A point is deferred revenue and there are sound reasons why you might want it to have a high or low...

Melbourne EV Car Ride Service - GoBlu-EV

Recently I’ve been using this new all-electric car service to MEL. They are a startup with 8 cars mainly BYD Atto 3s with more on the way. Book in advance and pay through the app or on the car. They’ve been reliable and cheaper than Uber, definitely cheaper than Uber Electric. I pay $43...

I've found my ideal Travel Charger

After messing around with things like the mogics bagel I now just have a non travel Belkin charger like this and separate AU/UK/US/EU cables. I’m a terrible one for loosing fiddley adaptor things and just being able to use a standard cable means I can replace it anywhere.

JAL business class Melbourne - Tokyo. Is it worth it?

Really no way of knowing right now. There’s two schedule changes between now and next February. Pre-Covid MEL-NRT was a pretty solid skysuite route, post covid and Ukraine war it saw a lot of shell flat neo. What aircraft JAL might send in a year’s time is far from certain. Check your booking...

JAL business class Melbourne - Tokyo. Is it worth it?

Assuming it’s sky suite then if you want privacy then the middle of the 3 in the middle, otherwise the aisles are all pretty much identical. There are no bad seats really. Windows may open up at check in so be ready at T-24 If it’s shell flat neo, then there are no good seats, so pick any?

Oversized bicycle on QF from Japan

Yes, those are the rules for bikes and I expect that is the limit, however some other airlines allow you to pay more to go oversize. Was trying to find out if that is possible with QF.

Oversized bicycle on QF from Japan

Especially because it is Japan; I want to know exactly what the rules are because what ever they are they will be enforced. I can find nothing on the website or in the conditions of carriage.

Oversized bicycle on QF from Japan

I want to buy a bike in Japan and bring it back to Oz. Simplest thing to do would be to get it delivered to to the kuroneko counter at Narita and check it in. I’d expect checkin to be sticklers with the tape measure but, the shipping box exceeds the Qantas maximum bike dimensions bike some...
