Stayed in Rosebank near Sandton in 2014 at the Clico Boutique Hotel. We thought it was fantastic, small, intimate with big comfortable rooms and a wonderful restaurant on site. Also felt very secure.

I received a message of apology the day before the flight. At checkin, same apology and handed the voucher for inflight shopping. Maybe if I had sufficient Star Alliance status I may have been offered an alternate lounge, but I was "jus" a J passenger.

There is no longer a lounge that you can access in Kolkata if flying SQ J. Instead I was given a S$20 voucher to use on inflight shopping. Doesn't help you much in the airport!

A bit old but in late Nov I got a J to F upgrade on boarding EK plane with QF flight number in DXB after transit heading for Brussels. Very pleasant surprise! I only recall one QF op-up to F in 15 years of travelling J flights at least 4 times per year.
