    SYD terminal bus transfer

Completely agree with this, especially arriving into SYD on a Sunday on QF12 and wanting the connection down to CBR. There is a 737 service SYD-CBR on Sunday mornings that departs *just* inside the minimum connection time from QF12; as such QF won't let me book but I know if QF12 arrives on...

    Infants In Premium Cabins

I have been allocated both 5A and 5K as bassinet seats when our daughter was younger, but only ever used the bassinet at 5A so can't remember exactly if it was there in 5K also. Have a couple of flights in 5K in a few weeks time, will double check.

    Infants In Premium Cabins

Not sure of J, but the basinets in F are 5A and 5K - they are cutouts in the back wall behind the seat.

At what age did you enroll your child in a frequent flyer programme?

I remember signing my daughter up within a few hours of her birth, when mum & bub were having a nap. She got sick of being a lap-child not long after her 1st birthday so she started earning points and SCs pretty early - she should make LTG before she finishes high school.

Life beyond LTG: Would you stick with Qantas if...

Red Roo - seeing as you're tracking this thread, I have a simple 'Life after LTG' request. Can you get your IT team to adjust the QFF website so that we can still see our lifetime status credits once we reach 14,000? QF might not have any further (published) tiers after LTG but I don't see why...

    Infants In Premium Cabins

Sorry, should have been clearer... the status run was for HER status, not mine...! :)

    Infants In Premium Cabins

In the true spirit of AFF, is it acceptable to take your 2yr old on a JASA status run? :) To answer your question - our daughter has flown internationally to meet family who aren't able to travel themselves, to go on holidays with her cousin who lives in the UK and so I could bring my family...

    Infants In Premium Cabins

Always a polarising topic when it comes up. My take is that if you pay for a seat in F, you're entitled to sit there. This applies no matter how you paid (cash, points, op-up etc) or who you are (infant, toddler, teenager, adult, pensioner). Yes, a crying baby or poorly behaved child can be...

1st visit to SYD QF First lounge

Personally I find that notion quite disgusting. The more appropriate breakfast beverage in the F Lounge is the Veuve. :) The staff don't even bat an eyelet when asked to open a bottle at 5:30am before an early flight to NZ.

    Infants In Premium Cabins

Have been on both sides of the fence - more than happy to see infants / children / anyone else in the premium cabins. My daughter took her first RTW trip in First at 6 months, and has flown J and F internationally a few times since then. Haven't had any problems from her, other pax or FAs on...

Qantas deleted my frequent flyer points without warning!

Thanks. In my particular case it's not an issue as my daughter flies enough to maintain SG, but certainly good advice incase that changes in the future.

Qantas deleted my frequent flyer points without warning!

Thanks - wasn't sure if 'activity' (granting of a lower status) would be enough in that hypothetical case.

Qantas deleted my frequent flyer points without warning!

In my case it's because I intend to let my daughter save up 'her' points over the next 15 years and, assuming the QFF program is still going when she turns 18, she'll have a decent points balance to do some post-school travel at relatively low cost. I am fully aware of the need to keep her...

20 yr Qantas FF and NEVER been upgraded... are upgrades like Rainbow Unicorns??

To add to the data set: Current status: Platinum Lifetime Status Credits: 14,000+ (QF stop showing it after LTG is reached, and I don't keep track myself) Years with the QFF program: 14 Operational Upgrades: 1* *Just to show you how random op-ups can be, the only time I've ever been upgraded...

Life beyond LTG: Would you stick with Qantas if...

I reached LTG last year, and made the decision to maintain my WP status each year on the basis that it's far easier to redeem points for classic award flights as a WP than as SG. If that changes I'll have to reconsider whether I stick with QF / oneworld as other than points redemption there's...

    A380 first class Dining

Fly CX more often :) Last CX flight I took had caviar & Krug as appetiser, lobster as entree, venison as main. Can't remember dessert - was probably too full for it after all that.

    Getting Qantas Status

I have a spare horse head for you (:)), and I'll disagree that status belongs only to those who take multiple flights in Y to earn it, especially as I'm one of those people who earn it the opposite way. QFF is about rewarding loyalty and, given QF is a corporate entity, the capitalist society...

Apple WWDC - San Francisco June 10-14

I've met a few AFF members at previous WWDC conferences over the last few years - just wondering if anyone is going again this year? Hopefully someone else was lucky enough to buy a ticket in the 120 seconds they were available before selling out... :o I'll be on QF11 on Sunday 9 June (should...

Celebrities plan mad dash to see in year twice

Thanks for that - I didn't realise that the charter guys could organise it directly as part of their ground services. Until the article on these celebs I didn't think anyone outside government or military could use the 'international' part of the airport - very interested to have learned otherwise.

Celebrities plan mad dash to see in year twice

I assume this facility operates out of the RAAF side of the airport, not the commercial terminal? If anyone can make use of the customs facility to leave the country on a private flight I think I'll have to look into this further next time we want to fly to NZ.
