Annual NZ Dinner: AKL 8 March 2025

Anyone have plans or ideas for Saturday? The most interesting thing I can see from googling "Top 10 things to do in Auckland" for us is maybe a visit to Waiheke?

    Ways that hotels annoy guests

Dark cupboards with no lighting nearby. I struggled to find my clothes at times!!

Just checked, my last email was on 18 Jan this year, and just a prompt to book parking, no discounts.

    Experiences with hotel wake-up calls

I used the in-room tablet in our Disney resort in November last year. We, well I, was awoken by various Disney characters - Animal yelling and crashing drums, Donald Duck squawking, and so on.

    AFF Cruise #3.

With your Little Miss, I'd consider a Disney cruise. They are expensive, but amazing for kids. And big kids who love Disney.

    General Cruise Discussion

When we were on the Disney cruise over NYE 2023/24, we booked a placeholder for an upcoming cruise. We need to use it/set sail with that placeholder by 3 Jan 2026 I think. I looked at the Disney AU/NZ itinerary for the upcoming season. Mr Katie isn't sure about the 10 night one from AKL to SYD...

I think I got a virtual gold star for staying still. ⭐️ I was very invested in the doctor getting my facet joint (L5/S1), not anything closer to critical stuff in my spine. Though holding my arms above my head indicated I desperately need a neck/shoulder massage.

Uterine cancer is horrible. 😢 My paternal Gran had it. Very few clear signs to suggest testing, etc. Horrid. 😔

AFF Cruise #2. Rerun. Crown Princess 4 nights 25-29 January 2025

It was the same on our Disney cruise - but for the merchandise shops! They didn't open until we were in open/non-territorial waters, and in our case, also after the night's entertainment was over.

My back has been giving me pain (spasms on occasion), so I'm getting an injection into it on Thursday (CT guided injection I think?). My GP advised that I needed to make sure someone else cooked dinner and looked after the kids afterwards. I replied Mr Katie does all the cooking and my only...

Well, my encouragement to try melatonin bit me yesterday. FIL reported that he followed my suggestion, then didn't sleep all night (he had some circadin from his last hospital admission). Worst night's sleep of his life. So I guess I'm demoted to worst DIL. :P I'll suggest he discusses with a...

    Ladies who shop !!

Since Covid, I’ve had mixed success at suburban Macy’s stores 1. Finding a customer centre (or whatever it was called) inside a store and 2. Finding staff who knew about the visitor’s discount program. I was delighted to find the Visitor’s centre and 10% saving pass easily at the Macy’s in...

What are you reading right now?

Ten Steps to Nanette by Hannah Gadsby. I focussed on reading on my trip to ADL and back this past weekend. I'm probably 3/4 of the way through. I'm definitely enjoying Hannah explaining her neurospiciness and thought processes. It's helping me kinda understand The Teen.
