    Gym in an airport?!

I was at Tallinn Airport yesterday and was surprised to see gym equipment in the departures hall. It was free for anyone to just go and use. Apparently it's a new thing: https://airport.ee/en/tallinn-airport-unveils-new-sporty-initiatives-to-enhance-passenger-experience/ I would actually...

    VietJet Qazaqstan launched

Wow, that's an interesting partnership! Will provide a bit of competition for FlyArystan. In the local Kazakh language, Kazakhstan is spelt "Қазақстан". The "Қ" is sometimes transliterated into English as K or KH, but the language is currently undergoing a reform and the "correct"...

No Business Velocity Reward seats on some domestic flights

It's clearly annoying, but I'm not sure what there is to investigate? Clearly Virgin is choosing not to offer any Business Reward seats on some flights, but they're within their rights to do this as they don't promise something different.

Article: Guide to Lounge Access When Flying Jetstar

I imagine the rules would be the same as for any other Jetstar ticket. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/status/platinum/lounge-access.html From the above page, if you have a JQ flight number on your ticket and it's international, you are permitted "One accompanying...

Tromso to Helsinki using QFF points?

Well done. You need to get this ticketed ASAP. I would call back if I were you or contact Qantas on Facebook to get the booking ticketed.

Article: How to Improve Airport Security Queues

I just cleared security at WAW through the Fast Track lane. There were no signs at all with instructions of what to remove from bags etc., and no security staff at the unpacking point to ask. So, I figured it wasn't necessary to remove my laptop and sent my bag through. Walked through the...

Tromso to Helsinki using QFF points?

It should be available, but sounds like you need to get the right agent. Which is very difficult to do if you don't have Qantas status. It's a shame that Qantas makes this kind of stuff so hard sometimes. :( Even as a Platinum QFF member I once had to call 7 times to book a simple one-way award...

Tromso to Helsinki using QFF points?

You should be able to book this over the phone with Qantas. Trying hanging up and calling again :)

Velocity 15% transfer bonus May 2025

I can’t say for sure if they would have applied automatically, as I ended up doing another transfer later in the month which triggered the bonus.

A dry holiday to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

So, would I return to Saudi Arabia? Yes, I probably would. I found it safe, quite interesting and am keen to see how it changes and develops its tourism industry over the coming decades. It has some unique natural features, great food and the people were friendly. However, if I did this trip...

A dry holiday to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

My flight out of Jeddah ended up being quite memorable, and not for a good reason unfortunately. Turkish Airlines has two A330-300 configurations. One has lie-flat J seats, while the other just has recliners with lots of legroom. I was on the latter, but being a daytime flight of around four...

A dry holiday to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

No, unfortunately not a live trip report - despite my best intentions, life has got in the way and I haven't had much spare time to write this. But now that I have a moment, it's time to finish off this TR! As I mentioned before, my flight out of Jeddah was with Turkish Airlines. I was booked...

TATL in whY- BA vs AA as QF Plat?

Could you fly AA outbound to get the excellent LHR T3 lounges and then BA back? You can probably this on one ticket, getting an AA/BA codeshare in one direction. That way you also get to try both airline products.

AirAsia X will fly to Nairobi

That's a real shame. Am going to Nairobi in September and a friend was booked on this flight to meet me there. The connections and pricing to/from MEL were quite reasonable.
