The 3 hour limit is linked to FBT. Companies have to pay FBT on business class flights of less than 3 hours (or at least that used to be the case).

The link though says that JQi will transfer bags to and from interline partners, one of which is Qantas. That seems pretty clear to me that they will do it. Whether Qantas will remains to be seen.

or they could just include it in the price like they used to? Qantas has alweays said they don't make money from credit card fees. It's just that they charge people who are booking $16,000 first class fares that same amount as someone booking economy. You might find that changes.

MIA is an all night city depending on what you are into :-) It's one of those places you could actually not sleep at all and find a nice bar to sit in all night.... You will be given two vouchers for drinks - these allow pretty much any drink except top shelf stuff. The basic drinks though...

I thought all ACs had free soft drinks and basic alcoholic drinks - at least last time I was there they did. Have things changed? I'm not sure why you'd stay at the airport in MIA. If you've not been before, you should find a hotel in South Beach. It's about 30 mins in a cab from the airport...

Apologies Matamanoa is not child friendly :-( You could try Mana, treasure, Octopus or Castaway (I'm sure there are others) but you are right - the mainland is not great, and it is difficult to get reservations in June school hols. If you do decide to still go to Fiji, I would go to a travel...

Not the answer you are looking for - but why cancel Fiji? There are plenty of other Islands that are open for business. We had a fantastic stay at Matamanoa Island last year.
