    Unusual checked luggage

I was at ROK airport last week and noticed a pax. checking in with a normal sized green "wheelie bin" as his "bag", the check in staff placed it on the scales and advised him that he would have to remove a couple of Kg before they would accept it, so he removed something and it went on its merry...

Tried recently for 2 seats on a QF(J) sector SE Asia to Syd for sector as part of 1W 280 trip, there were over 8 revenue seats for sale each flight but I was unable to have P1 team manage to get them "released" even though there were "Business Saver" available.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Would be interesting if anybody has a US issued card that credits AA miles and that also does not have a foreign exchange fee included, if they could pay ATO with it to see how it goes and also to check the FOREX RATE that the card issuer use, as may be a convenient way to accumulate miles/...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread The "last trip" HKG-JNB could be 6 months after the return to HKG if that is home, or a long as it is no later than 12 months from the date of the first flight, ie when you book you can only book out 12 months, but after you...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread Why not originate in BKK then HEL-CPH-LHR-BOS-SFO-NRT-HKG-JNB-HKG, still only around 32,300 so still a bit spare?, if needed could go via DOH to JNB and RETURN via DOH to HKG.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread I think what MRDCTAU meant to say was that "you can not leave your country of departure TWICE", not that you could not do any flights within the country of departure, on return from OS.

Does CHauffeur Drive come "free" with OW redemption J tickets

Living in the "bush" I have not used Chauffer Drive, but have now booked a OW J 280,000 trip, will it qualify for any "free" Chauffer Drives, and if so will it apply to any other the other OW carriers, but it obviously depends on the port also? ( so in a roundabout way as another question, would...

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

From someone who knows, one way the card companies could shut this down is by saying no points on ATO payments, just as Citibank did on MOST of their cards ( but not Citiselect) or by only offering a smaller number of points per $ as Amex has done with many AMEX issued cards ( as distinct from...

Excuses why an itinerary does not qualify as 140K/280K OW

Broome to Bali is a good example of an "inter country" calculation of a distance that is not flown, although not sure if it is counted as a surface sector or just a calculated distance to arrive at a total distance, don't suppose it really matters either way.

Excuses why an itinerary does not qualify as 140K/280K OW

I understand some of the Explorer fares have rules about inter continent etc but not OW classic redemption, a surface sector is a surface sector wherever it is, also the thing about taking the OW route to get there for a surface sector or to get back to your origination point from the end point...

Excuses why an itinerary does not qualify as 140K/280K OW

Rule 14.5.5 applies here "Surface segments are permitted as part,,,,, but the distance between the disembarkation point and the next embarkation point will be included in the calculation for that itinerary" Separate rule also states that (may be unpublished?) BOTH cities between a surface...
