hi there,

i was reading an old post about one world explorer for sc's and would love some advice ..I'm not sure what a donex/done3 is but it seems that it could be useful in our situation?

we're about to fly to uk with our newborn (8 weeks today) daughter and are planning a few days in greek islands (santorini) on the way over as well as a few days in thailand resort (coughet?) on way back. so far we had just got quotes for standard trip. I am about to lose gold status (in august) as i haven't flown all year since august due to pregnancy. would love to keep it if possible but i cant see myself getting much other flying done before end of august other than this trip.

our dates are quite locked in, plan is as follows:
10 may syd-hk
12 may hk-rome-athens
17 may athens - london
1 june lon-bkk
8 june bkk-syd

i'd love it if anyone could let me know if there is an option that will help me maximise sc's and have a chance of keeping gold.

Many thanks

Nicky

An xONEx is a oneworld Explorer Around the World Fare.

They use discounted fare classes, A for First (hence AONEx), D for Business and L for Economy.

If you are looking to use one to travel Business Class in May you would need to get cracking as availability starts to generally 'dry up' within two months.

As it is an Around the world fare you must "cross" the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and travel between Europe/Africa and Asia/Oz-Nz (aka SWP).

There is plenty of information in regard to this on the FlyerTalk web site; especially in the oneworld forum and the thread linked to by aubs in the next post.
