Limewood,

On the aniversary of your membership your SC total resets to zero and you must start the process again of requalifying for status. The 'expired' SC's do continue to count toward your lifetime silver and gold totals so not all bad.

What straightman posted.

Check your summary page on Qantas.com.

You will see:
Current lifetime Status credits: ...
This does not reset.

It has been mentioned on this forum that once LT SG is achieved, you will no longer see this line.

Going to be a while before it disappears of my summary then...

FF points don't but SC's do.

Pedantic I know, but points will expire, but only after three years inactivity on the account.

I wonder whether there will be any move to shorten the inactivity period, as has occurred on Aanother Aairline (and probably other US carriers)?

UA is 18 months of in-activity

But you just need to find something to keep it ticking over.

Other than flights, got any suggestions?? Maybe a car rental???

I know all the road warriors now have mobiles, and Telstra has raised the connect fees, but Telecard is actually reasonably priced for some calls. And it credits 4 (I think) miles per $ spend to your QF FF account.

Is AU$1 / year too much to keep your miles from expiring?

Happy wandering

Fred
