Just went to book an Award flight for my father and have found out that as of this week, Qatar have new rules around redeeming Avios for Friends and Family:
To add someone to the list, you must have flown a Qatar flight in the past or before you can add somebody to your list.
There is a new ‘My List’ which is seperate to the family pooling list and has a limit of 4 people and it replaces the old co-travellers list This list did not merge across). This is where I had my father before and now in order to add him to my ‘My List’ I need to have him register for a Privelege Club account.

This is just an FYI for anyone looking to book a redemption flight for anybody that is not already in their ‘Family and Friends’ list. Just be aware of the new rules in case you need to do more prep beforehand.
