Yep, controlled burning. Quite a bit of it going on now to reduce fuel loads for the next fire season. The "cloud" pictured is an immature form of pyrocumulonimbus

Even on deck 14, we were definitely too low for a final approach at PPT (IYKYK)…Ignoring the very dodgy angle of approach - ie me being a bit slow to take the shot!


Fortunately we were otherwise at sea level and the Moorea office view unfolded in the morning!
