Mine was in 2016 flying from Air NZ from AKL to BNE and had to be diverted to SYD after 2 attempts due to bad weather at BNE. It was an evening flight and therefore Air New Zealand provided accommodation at Novotel darling harbour which included dinner and Breakfast plus cabcharge vouchers to and from the airport. SYD - BNE was via QF at last minute rates because the QF status Credits earned on that flight tipped me over to QF Gold
