Hi All,

I'm a non-JetStar flyer and bought a flight between MEL > KUL about 6 weeks ago. I'm supposed to leave in a few days, but since then, I've come across much better connecting flights with SQ, and want to rebook with them.

I've got a starter fare which has no cancellation benefits, so I'm curious if there is another way to circumvent the system? Can I upgrade my flight to a full flexi for a different day in the future then cancel and get some money back? Basically I have buyer's remorse and don't want the booked flight. Is there any way I can recoup some money from it? What's everyone's experience with these sort of things?

Cheers

Generally you are stuck with the original T&C's of the purchased fare, even if upgrading to a fare class.

The disclaimer is something along of the lines of the most restrictive conditions still apply. I am not sure if JQ are the same in this situation, but are you able to ask them for the taxes back if the most restrictive conditions apply.

You are correct, it looks like I'm stuck with the Starter T&Cs even if I upgrade to Business Max. I'll look into the tax refund though, but there's no mention of it anywhere on their website.
