Thanks John.

I had great flights both ways. F was great - it enabled me to get all the work done that I needed to do and my resulting presentation in SIN went really well. The food and wine were the best I've ever had on QF. And the pilot came into the F cabin, introduced himself to each passenger and had a brief chat. I haven't seen this happen before.

For the trip back, as I was making my way to seat 12K on the upper deck, an FA asks "are you Mr W?" "Yes" I reply, partly worried that there is a problem and partly hoping that they might escort me downstairs to F. He says "There is a family with small children in the front two rows and it looks like it will be a bit noisy. You're sitting alongside one of them so I thought I might move you to a quieter location. Seat 17A is free. Would that be OK?". "That would be perfect" I respond. I thanked him profusely as I could already hear a wailing sound from the front of the cabin!

I know I've complained about grumpy QF crews in the past but on both flights this week they were sensational. Could not fault them. I also received my first special "welcome" from the cabin supervisor ("Hello Mr W, you're OW Saphire, thanks for flying with us, welcome... etc"). I thought this only happened to Plats? Anyway, it was a nice touch.

And the IFE worked perfectly on both flights from the get-go. That has to be a first for me. Although the food in J was not up to scratch IMO. Maybe I've been spoiled by F. :-|

Yes we should have had one but there is a perfectly good explanation on why we didn't.

Re: Congratulations JohnK for 4000 posts

Sounds like you had a great time Peter. It couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. :)

I hope you get some respite at work as we are missing your valuable contribution to AFF.

Sir, you are very kind indeed.

I do hope that work quietens down a bit too. I have two weeks of leave coming up late January, and can't wait! :D

The second highest posts per day average on AFF and I would have to say the quickest ever to reach 1,000 posts.

Good luck. I enjoy reading your posts even when we don't agree! ;)
