Hye. Apologies firstly if this question has already been addressed. I have searched for it on the site,
but it is a big place, and I'm new to it. I have 135,000 Qantas FF points. I was going to use 100,000
for a return from SIN to LHR, but the taxes are something like 780 SGD, and the fare is something like
1100 SGD. The taxes make Frequent Flyer points a joke. Anyway, I would like to sell my points. Not sure
if this is possible. Any advice would be great, if only how to best do a meaningful search.

Selling points is against the T&C's of the program. QF do have ways of finding out but it's your prerogative if you want to take the risk.

Thanks for your reply. I thought so, but I see people selling FF points online, so I thought there
might be a way round it. I can't see the point of FF points anymore, the taxes imposed are often
more than the fare on a budget airline.

And you'll find that eBay and Gumtree quickly pull these as a rule as they know that QF monitor the sites.

The other option - I believe that is legal - is to cash in for something from the Qantas store (eg DJ gift voucher) and sell these on ebay, or use them yourself. 100,000 pts gets about $$670 worth of vouchers.

Flying SIN-DXB-LHR-DXB-SIN on QF code gets another 14,000 QFF pts (worth about $100) ..... so thats $770 worth of vouchers. That means your fare is 100,000 pts + $250 SGD !! Shows how useless classic awards in economy can be. Bottom line if spending points doesn't save more than 0.67c for every point you spend, vouchers are a better option.
