Just had a survey sent to me that asked for my opinions on the QC access and to compare between QF and Virgin and based on certain scenarios e.g. cost, partner lounge access which i would pick. I won't read to much into it (too late i fear) but during the survey it never actually asked for customer opinions.

For what its worth my suggestions would be:
1. Somehow split the Domestic QC and International QC so you could purchase either or both for different price points (i only use international)
2. Allow a "family" membership of QC (e.g. 2 adults and 2 kids). Remove the rather confusing partner / additional card / guest card options.
3. Purchase access to Emirates Lounge in Dubai for x people (i know its offered now but certain scenarios had "No access" in them....)
4. Ensure that any Partner airline / One World airline honour the exact same entry as QF

Fingers crossed the scenario of $1200 a year isn't implemented.....

I think QF could successfully charge a higher fee, along the lines of $1000-$1200.

Considering that QF allows Qantas Club members access to their International Business Lounges & multiple partner airline lounge access plus the fact they hold a significant portion of Australian corporate travel spend.

I completed mine yesterday as well.It was interesting that whilst they had AA & EK as a lounge access option they didn't include CX (but did include Jetstar, 3K and VF).

The pricing scenarios were food for thought, but ultimately charging upwards of $900 seems rather steep, when you compared the *possible* extras they were offering to what you get for your $$$ at the moment.

From a personal point of view, a "tiered" system could be a good option as I don't require "family access" - so having to pay for it actually would be a turn off. Of course everyone has different needs and values, so what may be of value to one, is not necessarily the same for another.

The suggestion of purchasing a family membership would be a good compromise - if you want/need it, the "user pays" system kicks in.Will be interesting to see what "enhancements" this survey reveals in the future, as I'm up for renewal in about 6 months.

I received the survey email, but as yet have not done the survey.

Due to now not having Plat or gold status I buy QF club via AFF. For the QF & JQ flights I do its not value for money, but I still renew. For me would be better value for money to buy an AA 30 day or annual membership
$1000 ~ $1200 is a lot compared to what you can buy an AA Admirals club membership for USD$500 and then USD$450 for renewal. Admirals Club Passes
If you are not QF gold you are only flying ?? flights, so is high cost per visit even now.

It could be a nervous time for lifetime QP members.
This is exactly what I was wondering !! I bought 2 for Master FM and Dr FM many years ago - I suspect they have probably got good value out of it, although less so since the BA partnership died.....

Remeber its life of the member or life of the QF club. QF club could be reduced to 1 lounge in SYD & another in MEL for example. Other airport lounges could be EK lounges or JQ lounges or the "QF freq flyer lounge now called xx_x" where paid QF club members do not have access.

This survey is all about Qantas selling QF freq flyer programe to me

Don't they already have this?
In SYD and BNE there is a QC lounge and a Domestic Business lounge. Obviously all the paid people can only go to QC and all those with Gold and above can go to Business (or QC if they choose)

Or are you referring to international having a similar setup?
Given what they have done with Singapore (join first and business to be one big lounge) and the current plan to do the same with LAX and HKG would they really look at doing a completely opposite strategy in their home lounges?
Any thing is possible I guess. But the few times I have been in the international lounges they aren't exactly that overcrowded (granted its usually late night last flight out or on weekends)
all the domestic lounges are always packed when I go especially on Friday and weekends

Whats everyone elses experience with domestic and international?

"Relatively" cheap corporate rate access to QP - which comes out of my pocket - is the only thing that keeps me flying QF.

The loss of BA lounge access, loss of routes, loss of code shares, and the overall "vibe" I get from Qantas in recent years already has me currently trying out what the other team has to offer. If the value proposition of QP is reduced one iota more I'm gone.

EK lounge access in Europe would be a good start to restoring QP's value. Restoring code shares to Europe from Asia would also help.

But if anyone from Virgin is listening, join Star and I'm yours (as are a lot of my colleagues).

Golds cannot access the DOM J lounge unless travelling J.

The old BA trick of renaming the lounges from Terraces to Galleries was part of my thinking that would make QP lifetime members nervous. If a change like this was made it certainly would make one go for lifetime SG rather than halting at lifetime PS with lifetime QP and crediting to AA.

Obviously lifetime QP doesn,t mean lifetime QP if they make these changes .Where,s their loyalty to me .It,s Virgin on the ridiculous.

Well if they stoop this low, I won't wait for Virgin to join *A (which is all that is holding me back now)

It could be a nervous time for lifetime QP members.

Given my Life Time QP, is currently redundant while I enjoy the advantages of WP, this may not always be so.
However LTG is possibly further away than I can reasonably attain, even on current earning rates.
I would prefer not to lose my QP ( flight Deck ) life membership.
