Hi all, Hoping work out which private family cover is best for a family. Destination Vietnam ,Greece and Turkey. I normally have plenty of cover via Plat-Edge or Virgin Plat cards, however reading the T&Cs I may not be covered. My problem is that the T&Cs for Virgin Plat card state you must purchase departure and return tickets using the card, my problem is Bris-AUH was points . The 2nd leg AUH-ATH was with the Virgin card. Rather than risk it I would rather just purchase a quality family cover .

Any recommendations on insurance cover suppliers would be much appreciated.

Ps: Murphy's law applies with my daughter so full comprehensive cover is a must .

Thanks all

Have you looked at an annual policy, travel delay is often only covered under such a policy compared to specific trip insurance, and you get a years coverage including domestic.

How long is the trip? (Many policies cover accompanying children at no additional cost.)

Is ALL of the cost required to be on the card. IIRC my ANZ Plat card only requires a minimum of $500 to be purchased on the card ( 99.5% sure on this ), I may be wrong. Having said this, for some strange reason I have little faith in banks and there hollow promises and I always get full comp insurance through a 3rd party.

Hi there Serfty,
April to Vietnam -3 weeks
Sep/Oct 4 weeks Greek Isls and Turkey. I will post the T&Cs which shows conditions later as stuck at work. Cheers

Some Virgin High Flyer fine print. These are the things that worry me. So rather than play Russian Roulette I just need the best fully paid Insurance.
I don't trust these policies all that much...

Under these policies, they could say you missed one leg (Points or other credit card) and not honor a claim.. I paid some airfares with Virgin card but not all..

Markis10, that's all I am after, a good recommendation for a private policy for multiple trips. I have had serious problems with the T&Cs getting a claim through with comp insurance previously. Who would you recommend ?

I used to use QBE but a claim was slow in being processed, both Covermore and TID seem popular.
