Hi all

Looking to book my elderly but spritely sister to meet me in Stockholm in august. She's coughing up for J so good on her !!

So I can book her QF code share or direct EK. She wants the points but has no idea about status credits. I do of course ( she would get silver ) and will do so if I can.

she is keen on a Dubai stop over so to her the chauffeur drive would be of big value when doing DXB - ARN leg, both depart & arrive.

I've read the T&Cs on both Qantas & Emirates and it seems she will be eligible on a codeshare on EK metal. But my legal-ese reading T&Cs is pretty poor.

Any experiences or comments?

K.

I was able to book a Chauffeur drive on EK metal QF codeshare from DXB arriving CDG (Paris) for June next year.

I had chauffeur drive in Singapore on EK flight booked through QF (so codeshare), where Qantas does not operate chauffeur drive. So on this basis, I too would say yes.

As long as there is an option for you to book it online under "Manage Your Booking"?

Why doesn't QF introduce Chauffeur Drive for SIN and BKK J pax seeing as EK does it? Otherwise J pax would prefer buying the QF codeshare on EK metal instead of flying on QF!

Probably because it wont be around for those cities for much longer just like Hong Kong

Then why bother spending lots of money on new lounges?

Not sure why lounges are mentioned, EK have stopped HKG for their limo program and I expect they will do the same for other cities.

I misinterpreted your post. I thought you were arguing QF would stop HKG and SIN services soon, not that EK would stop providing limos on Aus-SIN flights. But EK only fly BKK-HKG as far as I'm aware.

Thanks for the responses all. Looks like I'll be using QF as a travel agent for EK then ;-)

Just reporting back. Booked today, all QF code shares on EK ( except QF1). SYD-DXB-ARN-DXB-BNE. Chauffeur option s are available for all legs in MMB. Gotta say I'm pretty impressed, that's very handy. I'm going via LHR then on BA J to ARN so it's going to be slumming on the train for me. Next time......

QF gets revenue when you book the codeshare... and its the same amount as non-codeshare generally.
So QF gets revenue benefit without doing any heavy lifting. Money for jam!..... until they realise people much prefer EK over QF.....dangerous game for QF!

Ok, so a question as a follow-on from this discussion, if anybody knows the answer.

Currently booked BNE-DXB-AMS in F on QF codeshare, EK metal, 081-ticketed. Used MMB on QF website (which is what website suggested to do) to organise car pickup. Phone call from EK Chauffeur drive yesterday to organise time of pickup. They had the pickup address, which I consider they could only have obtained from the details typed into the QF website. They didn't have a time though despite this being entered into the QF booking engine.

Is this the way it should work i.e. use QF MMB to organise car, but EK Chauffeur Drive actually provide the service, with booking on QF website transferred across to their system? I'm just a bit worried I'm going to have a car from each arrive at my door at the same time?

HI Guys,

Im booked on EK metal in a QF code share J class ticket BKK -SYD next month (connecting to Syd-mel on QF , same ticket). When i go on to Qantas site, i can book the chauffer for Pick up in Bangkok, and on the other end when i land back in Melb,

I went on to the EK site with my booking reference however, and even though it has both the bkk-syd and syd to mel legs showing, the chauffer option there shows just Pick up in Bkk, no end chauffeur - should i be worried?

I have booked the chauffer on QF site and it says booked, has there been problems?
