Here we go with the irrelevant generalisations again...
The comment I raised issue to was ignorant and had not a single ounce to relevance to AJ's performance as CEO.
You may consider it clever, but the crux of the matter here is that the OP had his redemption types confused. Yet they are the clever one? Sorry I don't think so.
Jack3193, my father would have always said 'you need to learn what the 'jesting' (not the 'malicious') use of chiacking is.
If you come from Ireland, it's humorous to call you a 'leprechaun.'
Increasingly in Oz, no one is able to make any sort of mildly controversial comment without being pulled up by the minority of Australians who are bleeding 'left liberal' hearts (whose compassion always has strict limits with the multiple rules of the politically correct intellectual elite).
It's obviously simpler and safer to suggest that the Qantas CEO has made some poor decisions.

I come from Ireland - ie I was born there and lived more than half my life there. I can assure you that I don't find it humorous to call Irish people leprechauns, and I don't know anyone in Ireland who does. In any case, as I have already clarified above, what I found particularly offensive was not the name calling, but rather the comment suggesting that an Irishman should never have been recruited to be CEO of "a big airline with big aeroplanes".
BTW, I have no problem with criticism of Joyce's decisions, in fact I wouldn't consider myself a fan of his. What I object to is criticism directed at his Irishness rather than his ability or performance.
the OP's friend was clearly the one with their head in the sand and was looking to blame everyone else but themselves.
not knowing their Qantas frequent flyer number could be used on line to make a booking? Lost me at that point.
