Butter matters [Danish Lurpak on board]

the margarine/butter discussion brings back memories of the television advertisement of the mother and child in a supermarket...the child asks 'mummy, how do they make butter?'... 'butter is made from fresh milk from cows in a field'

'mummy, how do they make margarine?'... 'I don't know darling, you'll have to ask your father, he's a chemist'

I remember the ad, I'd always assumed it was NZ only - didn't realise they used it this side of the tasman too.....

Mum went shopping today and what else would I find while unpacking but Lurpak butter!

"I wanted a nice butter for a change" was what she said!

I wonder if it is a co-incidence that she flew PER-MEL-PER in J on QF last week :!:

Got our Groceries delivered yesterday and Woolworth's gave us a free small tub of Lurpak butter.

SWMBO likes it and it will be a regular on our grocery order.

I think it's been mentioned in here before, but I found it mildly amusing yesterday that on Qantas from Sydney to Singapore I had Lurpak, a butter of Nordic origin... and then on Finnair from Singapore to Helsinki (with a Nordic airline) I had Liv, a butter of Australian origin. The Lurpak was much, much nicer... along with much of Qantas' offering over Finnair...

so qantas will never compromise on quality? this can be read two ways... qantas will never compromise on quality by serving Australian butter, or qantas will never compromise on quality (and lurpak is not inferior to Australian butter).

it is bad writing in any case to have ambiguity.

why is it that the customer care agent is happy to provide a name, but the qantas representative on this board REFUSES to do so?

Why does the author need to revert to bigotry (and advocating it) to prove his point? All it does is foster ignorance (the comment section is full of it).

Why is EK an airline of Islamic fundamentalists, whilst nothing is said about VA's relationship with EY?

I am sorry but what is the issue with the country of origin of the butter if it is a better quality product compared to the local alternatives?

My humble views.

Maybe the author needs to travel on an Australian owned airline, that flies Australian made planes, and uses Australian sourced aviation fuel.
Good luck!

Juxtaposing? Handpicked? Another glorious example for the plain English society. :p

it seems business class is moving up in the world!

it used to be that business class cheeses were 'selected' by the cheese expert and First class cheeses were 'hand selected'. Now business class has joined the heady ranks of the front cabin!!

did ya'll notice the difference now they're 'hand' selected?? :)

Flew BA Club Europe yesterday and my breakfast contained a little tub of butter simply labeled "butter". So at least Qantas shows passengers what brand they are being served.

It would need to be a strong vine, indeed, to hold a full round of English Cheddar! Heaven help the pickers.
