Hello,

I have booked a multi city flight for 2 for April 2014 (J classic award).

Sydney (Qantas)> Hong kong (Cathay)> Ho Chi Minh City > Sydney

There's another couple that will be travelling with us on the exact same flights but in economy. So I just want to confirm which lounge we will have access to beforehand as we have no status with either Qantas or Cathay.

I'm guessing for the Sydney business lounge we can guest both of them in?

For Hong Kong business lounge, from what I've read, business cannot guest anyone in?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you.

The rules are the same be it QF Internatinal Business Lounge in Sydney or HKG:

Next onward flight that day must be a Qantas or Emirates flight.
One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member on the same flight.

If you wish to peruse another one world lounge or use QF as part of your CX connection you may but no guests.

International Business oneworld Customers
Next onward flight that day must be on a oneworld operated and marketed flight.#
No guest allowed.

HKG does have an OK Qantas lounge though, so presumably the same guesting rules should exist there (It's a Qantas Club)

No guesting because their next flight is on CX (on the way out but ok on the return).

Next onward flight that day must be a Qantas or Emirates flight.

One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member on the same flight.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, I thought that was the case.

Guess we'll just wander around the airport in Hong Kong instead.

Thanks all.

I just amended my post, on the way to HCM you'll have to leave them outside ;) but on the return trip to SYD you can guest them into the QF lounge.

Always the pay lounge in HKG (eg Plaza lounge, my daughter used this recently when had no Airline lounge access)..

Just a thought !

Why didn't you consider a JASA ?

Sure, some more $ but the SCs would not hurt either.

May not make SG but PS seems certain with that booking (yes, 360 SCs with that booking in J - enough to make PS).

I did actually tried a few times to book this as a JASA, but was constantly transferred around or the operator referring me to the website.

Since I probably won't be able to retain the status anyway, I gave up and booked online instead.

This was when Qantas just changed from online to phone.

Not the worst airport to have to wander around.
