no need for that response. You've only been here 5 minutes. Pull your head in and have respect for the experience (time after time after time .....not one off) that you may benefit from on this site.

Despite the very rough welcome from some that think because they live on a forum that they have some ownership of the options that can be expressed, I agree with you that having someone place a baby in front of you is very poor form.

I think the cabin staff handled it well and reseated you.

FYI though, Empty J cabins to SIN are a rare thing these days since the move to DBX.

And a selfish, ignorant, cough without gadgets isn't a problem?

Gadgets just enhance the problem.

Correct.

Anyway give me an innocent crying baby anytime was the point I was trying to make.

Really? I would have though the opposite.

QF has possibly the worst hard product into SIN

As a regular (although not as regular as you), I can say it is the opposite, case in point:

not half as tight as SQ

My situation may be unique, but I get op-ups on SQ. It isn't super frequent, but it does happen from time to time.

SQ op-ups appear to be for genuine operational reasons only (e.g. overbooking, irrops, etc) and tend to be in line with what is reported on the net (e.g. they go to LPPS, TPPS, QPPS...).

Nobody owns anything here except their own opinions.

Just like in real life, if that opinion is inane, self-centered and obnoxious then others are free to form a judgement.

No one asked the OP for this comment - He/She owned it.

Pretty sure I said SINGAPORE

Also if you know plane so well you'd know that CX 330s don't have B in economy.

Cheers to next poster who knows what they are talking about and there is in fact 4 bassinets in that row.

Status is not a free upgrade ticket BTW.

If you want to fly upfront, pay for it ($$, points or both) but do not make a scene out of DYKWIA.

Anyone who chose to fly in a bassinet seat should (indeed, must) accept the risk inherent in that booking. Claiming inconvenience / ignorance is poor form (I'm being kind).

FWIW, I'm WP whose last trip was in F (QF11 / QF12) but the trip tomorrow is in Y - no complaint or "expectation" of any upgrade from anyone.

Everyone I know personally and professionally rates Qantas as their last choice for paid J travel on the MEL-SIN route. The hard product is just not competitive with SQ, and even the old EK 777s are a "little bit better".

For ~$350-$550 return tickets in Y it is a different matter.

(Jetstar, etc are not "approved travel suppliers")

+ 1 even BA is a better option for J and they still have an F cabin.

I second that... from Per QF is better than only the LCCs available. If I could get .br fares on any other full service I would take it in a blink!

Goes to show that all you need is great brand marketing along side your average product.

In fairness, QF is filling those cabins for other reasons that are not related to the hard product. They do very well at that

I was a PPS for 5 years and did some serious flying with SQ and I never received one!!

They actually tried to downgrade me once which started a mini-riot......

keep up the good relationships!
