I just received this email from the BNE Lounge Manager:

It is with great sadness that I let you know of my departure from Qantas Airways. My role has been disestablished, and I have been made redundant at short notice. My last day at work is tomorrow.

How will they run the QC?? I'm going to ring my contacts to see if this is an isolated redundancy, or more State QCManagers are being given the flick.

I am feeling a bit disestablished hearing the news, off to work out what that means!

I'm assuming this is the person we've met at previous AGMs? If so it will be a great loss to Qf, she has represented the organisation very well.

Yes it is. I arrive back in BNE at 3.30pm tomorrow. First stop is the QC (I hope).

I'm thinking of asking her to a dinner organised for AFF'ers to say goodbye. Who would be interested if she says "yes"

Me if I'm in BNE by then...

Is this related to the change to Accor management of the lounges, i.e. QF manager being replaced by Accor manager?

Yes from here. What a shame they're letting go of KBR; are they simply going to delegate the responsibilities up to the next level?

Not sure how long this has been happening but both BNE lounges closed tonight before 8:00pm with the last QF flight of the night to TSV. In the past I have been able to stay in at least the Qantas lounge until the JQ flight to CNS.

I would be interested depending on other commitments.

To the best Qld QF Lounge Experience Manager, a present on her last day. Kendell, frequent flyers everywhere salute you. You will be missed!

Received more notice than I did. Still the equivalent of 5 months salary made the pain a little easier to deal with!

On totally unrelated news I shot my lowest score ever at my club 2 days ago. :D

Why not?

Count me in if the date suits.

A yes from me also if the day/dates can be made to work.

Not out of the question for me, but very date/flight/accomm cost dependent.

Confirmed that the new BNE lounge manager and deputy are Accor employees (and were Accor managers prior to this).

Accor has been contracted to manage the food and beverage operations of the Brisbane lounges from mid December after they take over from the Compass Group. Domestic Lounge management has become the responsibility of the current Brisbane Cabin Crew Manager who in turn reports to the Brisbane Domestic Customer Experience Manager. Both are Qantas employees.
