Still stuck in T6 awaiting Alaskan flight. So far 2.5 hour delay. Here's hoping it's not much longer. Apparently waiting for Crew to get through security.

On another front there's been absolutely no updates from Alaskan staff. I appreciate there may be no news to report given all the confusion. But even the odd update to say that don't have a confirmed time yet can be helpful at times. My 2c worth

Shutdown was lifted - finally got to leave. It wasn't too chaotic trying to get out of the airport. Glad to be out though.

We can all (?) handle delays if we are informed about what is going on. The worst position is the lack of communication.

The AA agents kept repeating 'we don't know what's happening ....' causing me to sit out at the gate for > 1.5 hrs (instead of update in lounge; Lounge agents were equally in the dark).

My flight was 2.5 hrs late causing me to do a quick same-plane detour in SLC back to LAX.

Gate agent kept asking why I wanted to get back to LA so soon.

Both VA flights, VA2-SYD , VA8-BNE are leaving from TBIT tonight instead of Terminal 3 ….VA8 currently scheduled to depart 1 hour late @ 00.20

T3 screening to catch Virgin America flight to IAD was tedious in my experience in August. I guess many more travellers may want to get clearance through Pre-Check program to skip some of the screening checks at airports.

In the end flight delayed 3 hours. Could have been a lot worse (unknown stating the obvious). Grateful to just reach my destination.

Finally an update was given 20 mins prior to departure at the gate. Boardroom staff had no clue so I left and waited around the gate too.

Looks like the VA flights had substantial delays in leaving … VA2 didn't leave until 1.23am , now due in SYD at 10am , while VA8 didnt get away until 3.00am , now due in BNE at 9.15am , which will probably means a few delays this morning back to LAX especially with VA7 ex BNE

QF12 is about an hour late , QF108 ontime , while UA 839 is 2 hours late.

That part of the reson it was so quiet at SYD T1 this morning, off ex SIN flight 25 past the hour and in T3 20 minutes later.
