Hi All

Flying JQ to Hawaii next week (4.30pm) and as new Plat members we will have access to the First Class Lounge, really not sure what to expect...is there a dress code ?
I know we will try and be first in the queue and check in 3 hours prior with JQ and then make our way there but just interested if there is anything I need to be aware of prior. Or anything to try

Thanks

Congrats on making WP! You should really enjoy your time in the First Lounge!

As for dress code, I'm not sure of the 'official' answer, but you seen everything from tailored suits through to jeans and a t-shirt. I'd probably avoid board shorts and a bintang singlet though! :)

The restaurant is lovely, the wines are always enjoyable and you might score a spa treatment for your or your +1 if they have openings.

Enjoy!

When I last flew with QF to LHR in June, I checked in at the usual 3 hrs, only to be told that I could now check-in anytime of the day of my flight, and that it was a trial by Sydney Airport that was expected to continue. She didn't say it was a trial by Qantas, but by the airport.

Has anyone flying international other than with QF in the last few months checked-in much earlier than 3 hrs?

JQ is still very much 3 hours, max.

Noreen, when you get to the lounge, go to the spa first to book a treatment, as they can get busy. Then go and enjoy a bite and a drink while you wait.

Oh, and Enjoy!

Sydney 1st lounge a said brilliant, was in there recently. Out of HNL I've only been in the Q lounge, looks like its not been updated for 20 odd years (near sure was same receptionist), can be a bit cramped at times. Not sure what other lounges you could use there.

When you say spa treatments what do they offer...guess there might be something on the website somewhere

The ausbt article is a fairly comprehensive resource

In case you are wondering ... as a WP using the lounge you can't book ahead (have to be flying F to do that) - so as JT said, go to the spa FIRST to book a treatment.

There's a really nice a la carte dining area in the lounge - its a highlight. Probably a bit late for your lunch by the time you get there, but if the plane will be serving a meal after take-off (they usually do) have a bite in the lounge and skip the plane offering - its MUCH better!

Unfortunately no luggage storage in the lounge when you go browsing downstairs.

Actually, there is a storage cupboard by the reception desk. They'll stow your bag and give you a ticket.
AFF sacrilege I know, but I'll often forsake the lounge and go for a stroll round the shops.

Correct. When I was there in June, they offered to store my carry-on bags when I arrived.

Enjoy. The lounge is one of the best in the world!

There has to be a dislike button here somewhere ....

Hmmm ... they declined when I asked once. Must work on the smile more ;) or ask the more experienced 'angels' .

I too am a shop stroller. Never buy anything, but just can't sustain more than about 1 1/2 hrs Flounging at any stretch.

They only offer this storage service to VIPs or select customers rolleyes:...just like they will only bring out the better wines / champagne for select customers.
