I've only been to the Flounge spa once, but had an excellent 30min back massage. I have another visit pencilled in soon and am wondering what other treatments are available and what they're like. Could anyone share the full list and perhaps their experience?

I've had a facial and shoulder massage. That was good. I might have fallen asleep and snored.

Additional question t add to this: what is the availability of appointments in Sydney if you are Plat but not flying in first. Have planned to arrive 4 hours early for QF 7 to Dallas, hoping this will be enough time to secure an appointment. Any experiences? Thanks

Sydney is pretty tough without bookings for those morning flights.
As you have the following with F cabins at those times.
QF127 HKG 0950 depart
QF107 LAX 1000 depart
QF11 LAX 1305 depart

Best chance I suspect is around 9.30/10.00, but a lot of other morning flights.

There are a number of different facials available - I've had the express one, which also has a shoulder and neck massage. Very nice before the flight. There is a facial for males as well. We are going to Hong Kong in late August, so debating booking the 50 minute intense facial - anyone had that? If I book an 8:30 appointment, I should just manage to cram it in before we board (hopefully?)

When I travel from MEL I always manage to get a massage appointment.
In SYD it's much harder. I never managed to get a spot in the morning.
I found it much easier when traveling on JQ35. There is usually availability after the LA flight started boarding.
So far I tried neck & shoulder, back and foot massage and they are all excellent.
I don't think there is a benefit to being WP or P1 because they don't ask that when making the appointment. Only F travelers get priority and the rest are equal in the Flounge and that's the way it should be IMO.

What does the male facial entail?
From memory it said something about cleansing designed specifically for male skin. I tried to talk Mr FM into it last year but he stuck with his neck and shoulder massage. It has taken me a long time to talk him into using the spa, so I didn't want to push friendships....

I'll be flying QF127 in F next week and with the spa opening at 9am and having a 9:50am departure, I didn't think I'd get an opportunity to make a booking because I figured I wouldn't have enough time - are you suggesting that's not necessarily so?

Do we just call the F lounge to make the spa appointments?

When I flew to Johannesburg last year the Spa opened at 8:30 and I had plenty of time for a 30 minute treatment. I want a 50 minute one this time, which might be pushing friendships I can't remember what the boarding time is for a 9:50 departure.

If you are travelling in F the First Host will call you the day before to talk about any requirements, including booking spa treatments. If you are accessing the lounge based on status, then just head to the spa as soon as you get there and see if there are any spare times, book one and then eat :)

I could be wrong but the last time I was in the Spa in SYD I overheard that the 50 minute massage had been discontinued.

Oh had it - thanks - that makes it easier. I don't have to worry about boarding times - just breakfast, a relaxing 30 minute treatment and float onto the plane :) I guess it makes sense - allows more people access.

Was last in SYD F six weeks ago. Arrived just before 1pm and Mrs 340 was immediately offered a 2.30 spa slot at the front desk. Never had a problem getting a treatment in MEL either once 9 and 93 depart. Mind you, you can sometimes swing a very corpulent cat around in MEL F in mid-afternoon with little danger of harming anyone else.

I've had the male facial treatment several times. It's a mix of exfoliation creams and moisturisers with a neck and shoulder massage. Very relaxing.

I need a facial, but my old head is too old, so going 1st time to F lounge soon as a new WP think I'll drink instead

I got to MEL Flounge at about 0645 for QF30 and asked about spa treatments, and they were wide open until 0830 or so when QF93 LAX passengers start to arrive.

As promised - hope it can be read.... Gives some idea of treatments available, although I was told the 50 minute ones are not available in the morning due to the congestion of the spa/lounge.

I've got 6 JQ35 and JQ3s coming up in the next 2 months. What's the treatment availability like before them? Say around 12:30-2:30pm in SYD and 11:30am-1:30pm in MEL?
