F lounge LAX or Flagship ?

Hi all,
Having been in the F Lounge at LAX a few times and not at all rating it, I now have the opportunity to use the AA Flagship Lounge. As I have never had a connecting flight on the same day to LAX then home, this is my first opportunity to use Flagship. How many of you have used it before flying back to Oz? Also I have 3.5 hours before QF94. I know my way around T4 & TBIT. I am a little bit hesitant about leaving my run for check in / security too late. Is it worth the risk. I really am sick if the F lounge at LAX. Thanks for your advice in advance.

Re: F lounge LAX or Flagship ?

I've previously landed at LAX domestic and then transferred to international to get a QFi flight home. The Flagship lounge is less crowded, food just as good and you can check in there for the flight home.

Given your luggage will be checked through then enjoy the flagship lounge for an hour or two, just be aware of the bus timings.

Thanks Hvr.
Slight problem as my flight from LAS is on a totally separate booking as it booked, changed and re booked separately.

Is it with AA? If so, they should be able to check your luggage (if you have some) and give you all your onward BPs at LAS - regardless of if it is a separate booking or not.

Unless I'm really pressed for time, I will pop into the T4 F/L for a shower, faster Wifi and different food and drink options before taking the bus to TBIT. With the new developments in TBIT there is a bit more of a walk/confusion to get to the lounge when getting off the bus than before, as I found out last week.

Thanks Kangol.
it is with AA so that would be great if they checked my luggage through. I traveled from Indy 4 months ago to LAX and then onto Mel and they wouldn't do it. See how I go. Will probably walk to TBIT anyway. Although that's provided I. Don't drink too much pre-flight.

Re: F lounge LAX or Flagship ?

Don't get too excited, the Flagship lounge makes a regional QP look amazing. It certainly isn't worth going out of your way for unfortunately.

If you do, you have to clear security again. The bus to TBIT leaves on the hour and 30 mins past the hour from T4.
I wouldn't walk over, but that's just me. Especially if there are potential drunkeness issues :p

Re: F lounge LAX or Flagship ?

After arriving from LAS, do not go landside until you are ready to head to TBIT. You are not supposed to be able to re-access T4 unless departing from there.

I will always endeavor to employ T4 before heading over to TBIT about 1 hours before scheduled departure. Once in the TBIT F/L I might consume one or two sips of French bubbly and nibble some cheese before heading off to the gate.

These days I walk and re-clear security at TBIT as it's generally quicker to the F/L doing that than taking the Bus.

I must've been unlucky because the bubbly in TBIT F was not French last week - I think this is the second time in a few years I've experienced that. All other times - Taittinger NV.

Re: F lounge LAX or Flagship ?

Arriving at T4 means you must be flying on AA coded flights from somewhere in the USA.

They should be able to check your luggage through to Oz and issue the BP for the flight home at the initial departure point.

I did not follow your comment.

Last year we checked in at SFO with two separate bookings - one was an Aone 4 and the LAX-SYD was on it. THen we had an economy LAX-SFO return booked and paid entirely separately. AA had no problem checking luggage through and issuing boarding passes for both. We went to the Flagship lounge for a few hours and then walked over to TBIT.

Re: F lounge LAX or Flagship ?

I'm currently in the T4 AA lounge, after arriving on QF11 & we're flying AA up to SFO. As aOWE with 2 guests, I was not able to access the Flagship lounge, as it's apparently quite full and they're strict about the one guest rule. I am travelling with my husband and 6.5yo daughter. A shame food-wise, but none of us are hungry, so it doesn't matter too much.
the kidlet is happy, as we're now ensconced in the kid's room on the AA side & she's on a computer. :)

That's a little disappointing :(
I'm hoping to get us all into the Flagship lounge when we are there in Dec.
We have two WP/OWE and two travelling in F on a 3 class transcon. Will have I think one extra child over the usual access plus guesting entitlements.

Re: F lounge LAX or Flagship ?

Speaking of TBIT,
the new Central Core reportedly opened on 18 September, and the new staralliance lounge on 25 September.

Has anyone passing thru been able to check out construction on the oneworld space.
