That was probably helped because there were and as far as I can tell still no direct SIN-HNL flights.

I'm told the Cairns Airport Authority are working on it.

and SIN-CNS-HNL isnt that silly... sounds dam good to us tropicals :)

SIN-CNS-HNL is about an hour longer than SIN-NRT-HNL, but SIN-MEL-HNL is about 4 hours longer... and doing it on Jetstar...

Being an hour longer isn't too much of a concern if JQ can keep the pricing down to LCC levels and significantly undercut JAL or whoever it is that's doing SIN-NRT-HNL. A penny saved is well a penny saved.

It's possible to get a ticket for <$1300 SGD on CI and HA, connecting in TPE, which is about the same distance as SIN-NRT-HNL. I don't think it's going to be easy to beat this price. It's also possible to transit through ICN and MNL so there are plenty of other options.

They're gonna have a problem then, unless they can somehow make transiting through CNS a good thing.

Well it may well be CNS could be a 787 hub, the big story is the proposed AQUIS development expected approval before this Dec., commence work early 2014, checkout the no of people required and the 4000 rooms. I've seen the resort model in a local shopping centre and is a bloody knockout. This will bring the masses to the city.

I saw that on the news last night, I honestly don't think it'll fill... but I'm sure he'll make his money from it somewhere.

I recon he will, build something unique they will come, they have done their homework.
