QANTAS's domestic sale(s)

I am booking Qantas flights as we speak.

I will need to book 10 Virgin flights as well as Qantas is way too expensive on a lot of flights I want. That is the reason I asked if forward sales were good. I have no seen airfares buckets this high in my 5 years of commuting.

Anyone have a feeling about the next QF domestic sale ?

I guess we wait for Virgin to have a sale and then QF to follow shortly after

JohnK - Yes fares are going up and up, the falling dollar will no doubt cause further rises as fuel is going to be quite a bit more expensive over the next 6 months or more

Everyone was jumping up and down about the high dollar and how it's hurting us etc etc, now they have already started whinging about the petrol prices rising, we have already had a 6 cent rise in the wholesale price of petrol over the past 30 days or around 4.5%. I expect to see unleaded hit 1.69+ in the next 4-8 weeks at the high point of the pricing cycle in MEL/SYD

Anyways I need a QF domestic sale :)

I have a feeling you asked a day early ;)

FWIW this seems to be a good sale with many QLD QFlink options for $75 and SYD for $99, J is on sale as well.

'The Australia Sale' (average name but some good prices) stated today. On sale until Wed 21Aug with Travel 14Oct-12Dec. some very good prices for the red roo,
SYDMEL $85,MELBNE $119 and SYDPER <$200 .unusual launching on a Sunday ,Tue & Thurs seem the most used sale start dates

Some great airfares with SYD-BNE at $85.

This same sale period was at $99 SYD-BNE a couple of months ago with a lot of my flights unavailable so I booked some Virgin flights instead.

Now this sale.

I may be heading back to LRE thanks to this sale. The period was similar to a sale previously, as mentioned by JohnK where the flights I was after, at the same price, had sold already. Now they're available again, how lovely. Glad I didn't book but just put off the trip!

Current "Australia-Wide" sale has some great Flexi fares on sale - considerably undercutting VA flexis on PER routes... interesting !

Is there a promo code or certain dates for this as there doesn't seem to be any good flexi fares from cairns (they are more expensive)

It only for travel between 20 Oct and 12 Dec. And from what I can see they're a fair bit cheaper than normal flexi-saver fares.

I don't know if this happens often but I noticed that in the current sale ADL-SYD-OOL at $105 is cheaper than ADL-SYD at $109.

That has happened and can still happen for other domestic routings.

One sale ends and another begins almost immediately.

Who would have thought that SYD-BNE and vv would be $79 a month out for 20 October - 18 December. And to think that I was struggling to get some of these airfares for $99 a few months back and booked Virgin instead.

I wish they would stop playing games and have a constant fare that people can book with confidence. Qantas lost ~AUD1,000 business from me when I booked the Virgin airfares for October-November-December. Not a lot in the grand scheme of things but still not good to lose business.

Anyone know if another QF Domestic sale is on the horizon?

Need to book a SYD-MEL one way for the end of an Intl trip in Nov, but don't fancy paying $139 per person wish I had of booked a few weeks ago when the $85 fares were on.!

I think you have left it too late for sale fares in November. I think any further sales now would be for January onwards
